I just finished watching this episode!
Yellowknife looked COLD! I for sure wouldn't want to race in -20+ degrees!
I surprised by Dave & Irina taking the penalty! I didn't think they would be the type of team to quit that easy! I'm glad that their penalty wasn't the kiss of death, because I actually quite like the so-called 'villains'!
Looking forward to next week; TAR Canada has surprised me this season!

The most interesting part was the whole drama around the map reading, having it out in the cold was a great idea, if you didn't know immediately how to do it then it was a tough part of the race. I don't think Dave and Irina needed to use the express pass before she had even given it a go, though after that taking the penalty was probably a reasonable tactic with their lead and it only being 2 hours penalised. I remember someone saying somewhere that this version loves express passes as it cuts down on all the penalties taken. Though it was built up as being very difficult I suspect once you are very briefly under the ice your body will tell you to continue the extra feet to get the clue.
Did the mothers really tell the last place team to use their express pass as they were leaving? I thought I heard that.
What's the furthest point north they've gone to on this race.?

Dawson City, Yukon last season. It's just slightly further north by longitude than Iqaluit, Nunavut in Season 1.
