Could this NEW Reality Show mean the end of TAR?

<< < (2/4) > >>

TheRabbi:
There was in interview with Kelly Kahl (CBS scheduler) a few days ago where they asked about the state of CBS reality programming and how they're adding 2 new ones this year. He basically said they have stable performers right now which allows them to experiment with these new shows to try to find the next generation of reality shows for the network.

So they are certainly looking for new reality shows as long-term replacements, but they still have to air and perform well to show signs of longevity. Remember how they thought Hunted was going to be their next big hit as well. We should hopefully have a few more seasons of TAR in us (obviously at least 2), so let's just enjoy it while it lasts.

Gra1162:
Does CBS realize TAR won them awards and such and now why would they take it away  :groan: :res:

Marionete:
Key word is won. Past tense.
Viewership and ratings have dropped significantly since 24, so there's definitely reason for CBS to consider alternatives. They haven't cancelled TAR yet, and we even have 2 seasons in the can, which is amazing, but they need contingency plans.

There's no comparing the stability (in terms of ratings and viewers) of TAR and Survivor or BB.

Xoruz:
There is nothing on the photo to suggest that this show is replacing TAR. We don't even know on which network this show is airing. There isn't a CBS logo on the photo, and CBS rarely does docuseries. Bertram & Elise have done several shows before (Quest, Take the Money & Run, Great Escape, Oprah's Big Give), which didn't air on CBS so they are not limited to one network.

This. All the ad says is that its from the same people of Amazing Race, it does not mean it will air on CBS. Also, the four shows you just mentioned only ran for 1 season.
