Xoruz:
More photos of the parade. Peach believes that teams had to find a baby in a king cake at Cafe Beignet. Bloggers left way ahead.
georgiapeach:
Well this was AN AMAZING day!!
Thanks so much to Chateau and several new friends for making this all happen!
And thank you guys for holding down the fort here And Xoruz for posting my pics for me!
georgiapeach:
I have been up since 0500 so am a pooped peach.
Will do a brief summary of the day for now and then sort and upload Chateau's and my best pictures and vids tomorrow.
We were under the (mistaken) impression that we were having a daytime leg.
After a quick looksee around our known sites it became obvious that nothing was happening.
We then got word that teams would be arriving MUCH later than expected. And it became obvious that this was going to be a NIGHT leg. (Darkness falls pretty suddenly here and it was dark by about 515PM.)
The flight arrived slightly ahead of schedule : Delta 2297 arrived 1714 from LAX.
And here is where the oddity began...
Teams arrived early...but WERE HELD BACK AT LAX.
We can only guess this was due to some production issues related to the upcoming leg? ???.
Teams were finally brought down together close to 7. After much hugging, they were lined up and released in this order:
Team Red: Asian M/F
Team Blue: James and Will
Team Yellow: Our tall bearded MM team
Will add pics tomorrow
georgiapeach:
Then the taxi craziness began: they all seemed to be doing their due diligence!
Some pics up already, will add more if any relevant tomorrow.
Teams stopped under an archway?? And got their cues.
They then left the taxis and RAN
The first task (well documented) Was the bead throwing …
The throwers were up on balconies above the crowd...New Orleans music playing, as seen in the vids.
James and Will left first with a(TBD) lead...maybe about 10 + minutes??
Red and Yellow followed.(intervals TBD once we review pics)
They danced and played washboard with a Dixieland jazz all the way to CAFE BEIGNET.
This WAS A ROADBLOCK
one team member had to go into the bakery filled with stacks of KING CAKES and look for the baby charm in the KING CAKE.
This took a good while… with production trying to discourage photo taking outside. (Very strange since the leg was set up to encourage audience participation from the start.)
James and Will increased their lead and left first.
The two team members NOT doing the task were in the garden area outside and were interviewed JOINTLY.
There was a substantial gap between Janes and the others...possibly around 15-20minutes? (will need to check timestamps.)
Teams left and headed to their next tasks
Will post the rest tomorrow...some interesting things to Come!
Sorry guys...cant stay awake any longer!
More tomorrow with pics. :waves:
SouthernDucks:
Did they officially finish last night or will there be additional tasks today??
Completely upset about this as we live in New Orleans but are currently out of town!!
