Do I try to go to the airport so I can follow them from there? Or do I go around the city and try to find where set up is occurring for later- maybe at Hart plaza? DL17 gets in around 2. DL19 gets in around 4. If the teams did take the second (DL19) direct flight out (I am not sure why they would do the later one) but that would match up time wise very close to the 5-7 time slot speculated for Hart Plaza. It takes about 30 minutes (in no traffic) to get to DTW to Hart. On other hand, if teams take DL17 (earlier flight which is more likely) there is about 2 1/2-3 hours unaccounted for.
Would like to mention 2 things that have happened since TAR29, that I think is likely to be kept this season. Which was production basically fixing 2 issues regarding the final 3 arrival in the final city.
- The first one is having all final 3 fly together in the same flight into final city. This has been mostly active since TAR11. Which production would limit the flight options available to the racers to basically one option, by manipulating their release time as such, that this would work as an equalizer after all.
- The second one which I think was introduced in 29, is not only already assigning the last flight to the racers, but also upgrading all the final 3 to business class, and production holding everyone up to arrival exit door, which seems where they actually start racing. This address, the issue that even though the flight became an equalizer, racers who were able to get seated closer to the plane exit ended-up gaining advantage over those further back. This is attributed as being pivotal in the final result of certain seasons. Also, this could even allow teams to be flown into final city in the same flight as Phil, and still allow him some head-start, before teams actually start racing.
And I quoted MM1924 specifically. If racers and Phil are in the same flight, it's possible to they're all coming in on DL17. However if production decided to have them be flown apart, Phil and part of the production would be in the first flight, with racers coming in with the later one.
