Based on the legitimacy of Sue's lead, TARCAN might host a leg in Indonesia's capital when neither the original nor TARAUS could!

If they did go to Jakarta, they would probably fly on Air Canada to Tokyo and then fly to Jakarta

Just like how they got to Kolkata three years ago, I believe.

Mbabul translated to "defeat" in Malay - false cognate, perhaps?

Definitely.

As the third SEA destination in a row, I wonder if it'll be a double-round a la two years ago or a single like last season, i.e. in the latter case flying to another Asian nation before returning presumably to the Prairies?

I wish they would do 3 more international legs in a row in a westerly direction, then return to Canada landing in the Maritimes. At least they could say they circumnavigated the globe.  :duno:

Not necessarily ; It could be a decoy tweet. Nothing is confirmed until there is (picture) evidence of it.

Indonesia's Leg 4 correct?

Thats a good question, are we leg 4 or 5?

Teams left Canada early pm on Monday, April 30.
Pitstop with Jon was Early morning of May 2 (BTW, was the leg already over, or was he just waiting for teams to arrive)

My guess would be team arrived in Indonesia in late  May 1 (local time), had a Hour of Operation, and were racing in the morning of May 2. I guess the leg would now be over.

TARCAN has had a history of visiting large global metropolises (with a couple exceptions)

-2: Paris, Hong Kong, Macau
-3: Buenos Aires, Santiago, Delhi, Calcutta
-4: Ho Chi Minh City, Havana
-5: Beijing, Shanghai, Bangkok, Panama City
-6: Jakarta

I speculate that if we stay in Indonesia (which is what I think looks likely) we will get another big city.

I'm surprised at Jakarta being used. Canada has travel advisories for Indonesia because of Zika.

Sinorama doesn't seem to promote trips to Indonesia - so perhaps they are not sponsoring this year?

IMO, Leg 4. I tried to figure out, looking at flight times, when leg would start & it fit into my prediction. First tweet posted 9:48 AM local time.
Jon could have recorded it the day before and it was only posted when leg was over.

Jakarta should be alright :)

In all the times TAR US has visited Indonesia, the capital has surprisingly never been touched.

do you think it's odd that there's no sightings at all from the one of capital cities of social media users?

Some countries are just like that. Last year, we had no idea at all that they went to Thailand until the preview aired, lol.

According to Jon's watch, it was about 10:50 am. Although we don't know if he reset his watch to Jakarta time.

 :funny: Excellent eye!!!
I imagine he reset it. So it could have been just before racers were due into pitstop??? Filming the day before would alert locals, especially with the mat there?

On the other hand, Normandy and Cai Be leads me to believe that Leg 5 will be Bali to maintain the presence of rural overseas legs on even-numbered seasons.

On the contrary, Jakarta turned up prominently during the filming of the TARA5 premiere whereas Bangkok had/has a history of minimal to non-existent footage.

Possible Leg 5 destinations could be Bali, Semarang, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Bandung (in Indonesia)

Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Darwin could be some others!

Leg 3 Pie Spoiler

Yeah, they had to eat 1 pound blueberry pies and either puking or making themselves puke, very loudly!!! Not so nice for the food vendors!
