TAR 30 EP 11&12 FINALE NIGHT LIVE SHOW DISCUSSION! 2/21/17

<< < (37/45) > >>

serendipity:
Finally caught the last 2 episodes, and got to say quite disappointed about the result.

The Hong Kong leg is generally great. Growing up in Hong Kong I always enjoy when TAR came to my city, and I always think the Peak should be visited as it is so beautiful, glad that they finally did it this time. If they also did a tram ride up the Peak that would be great! Detour is very good as well as it creates some challenge on either side, roadblock just meh and it doesn't represent any Hong Kong culture (what Phil said was not true and I have never seen any people here smashing electronics to release stress...). Last task at LKF is just awesome, and it is a genius plan to do it in a crowded place without letting them get people help easily, would be the best if they are not allowed to do trial and error without getting all 3 correct signs.

San Francisco leg is ok as a finale, not too many tasks involved and physical challenge seems a bit unfavourable to female racer here. The last task sounds good but too little information given, they should at least let us know what are the 12 patterns they need. Most importantly I am disappointed with the result, I am fine with anyone in F5 winning except BB, Cody is alright to me but Jessica is just hypocritical the whole time and got lucky with that final challenge. She has been the dead weight to Cody in both Bahrain and Hong Kong legs.

I would say the disappointment mostly comes from the misdirection from the producers, who always try to suggest Kristy/Jen likely winning. I thought they must win and Henry/Evan as dark horse, but never thought the final result is like now.

Hope a new TAR season coming soon to erase this bad memory...

The Hong Kong pitstop of TAR30 was not purely just a random street corner!  :hfive:

1. The tree at the Junction was planted by an American Country Singer John Denver in 1994  :jumpy:

Back in 1994, a large scale greening project was carried out in the Wan Chai district. Among these 1000 trees planted in the project, this was one of the the only two trees planted by a celebrity, that is an American Country Singer John Denver (the other one was no. 600 by Chris Patten, the last Governor of Hong Kong before it was returned to China).

2. Besides, Joshston road was also the original coastline of Wan Chai before the large scale reclamation project back in the 1920s.  :girly

They should have made the racers guess the location of  pitstop instead of using the street board to shuffle the placement more!  >:(  :'(  :drama

I'm guessing the race planners found this article and assumed "destruction therapy" is from Hong Kong's entertainment subculture. Even the writer for this story says that there are rage rooms all around the world, so I'm not sure why they particularly chose HK.

All the tasks are hard enough to allow shuffling of placement throughout the leg
Actually I would say this season is overally good. At least unlike recent season, there are much less linear legs. The tasks are always not easy for team lagging behind to catch up

However, i have to say i dun really like the winner of this season.
While watching the interview, Jessica just kept saying that she defeated team Yale in written test but i would like to point out that she had a head start over Henry (although i dunno the exact length of the head start). I am pretty sure Henry spent less time than Jessica to finish this final task. I agree that they defeated Team Yale in the race, but in terms of the final memory task, I have conservation about her saying she defected Henry

Also, Cody accused Henry of copying Jessica’s work but where is the evidence? I am very annyed by his accusation without any evidence

I just feel they are so arrogant that i dislike...

Cody and Jessica irritated me a lot with their reactions in the past episode and the exit interview
1) They claimed Henry copied Jessica's work with no evidence
2) their reaction towards Yale's congratulation at the finish line
3) They literally said they were unhappy with Yale getting into final 3 directly next to Yale at the Hong Kong mat
4) Cody mentioning of not enjoyed travelling around the world constantly throught out the race, as well as in their exit interviews

I mean, you can dislike Yale. But your way of aliening them just show you are not good people either

--- End quote ---

I disagree with 1-3. With regards to 1, Cody said that he was yelling for Jessica to roll the plane because he saw Henry looking at the plane and start rushing to finish. You can't say it's not valid because you were not there and it's edited. Regarding #2, Jessica said "thank you" and Cody has that face a large majority of the time. Number 3, They never explicitly said they were unhappy right next to Yale, they just said it was hard seeing the other teams get eliminated. In fact, Yale didn't even know teams disliked them until they watched it back. You can dislike Jody, but dislike them for valid reasons lol.
