Amazing Race Canada Season 5, Episode 8, "Can I see your Kuna?"
Film date: probably 2017-05-12 - 2017-05-14
The last pit stop was at the Captain James Cook historic site near Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Teams depart from somewhere else, probably in Corner Brook, in the following order:
1.Sam & Paul 23:572.Kenneth & Ryan 00:52+0:553.Adam & Andrea 01:34+1:374.Karen & Bert 01:36+1:395.Korey & Ivana 01:53+1:56
Route info: Fly to Panama City, Panama. Teams get $550 for this leg of the race.
At the airport we learn that it is mothers day in Canada and Karen is the only mother remaining in the race. Everybody congratulates her and she misses the kids.
All teams are on the same flight to Panama City from Deer Lake via Toronto. Once they land they must make their way to the Biomuseo. This museum was designed by Canadian Architect Frank Gehry. At the museum teams must search for their next clue near the white wolf.
This clue is in an ordinary clue box without it stand. Instead the box is placed on the floor where it blends in with the base of the exhibit so it is not entirely trivial to spot. But teams find it and the clue within in the following order:
1. Kenneth & Ryan
2. Sam & Paul
3. Karen & Bert
4. Korey & Ivana
5. Adam & Andrea
This clue directs teams to Paseo Esteban Huertas Casco Viejo where they must search the seawall for their next clue. Teams change places a lot on the way here. Taxis pass each other and Sam & Paul get impatient an get out to run. Karen & Bert trust their driver and stay in their taxi. In the end they find the clue box here in the following order:
1(+2) Karen & Bert
2(-1) Kenneth & Ryan
3(+2) Adam & Andrea
4(-2) Sam & Paul
5(-1) Korey & Ivana
--- Quote ---ROAD BLOCK
Who's ready to meet
their match?
--- End quote ---
Inside the clue reads:
--- Quote ---Pick out a traditional
Kuna mola. Then search
the streets of Casco
Viejo to find the Kuna
woman wearing the
exact matching mola to
receive your next clue.
--- End quote ---
Each contestants must select a Mola, an elaborate embroidered cloth panel. They must then search the neighborhood for a woman of the Kuna tribe wearing a blouse with a matching pattern. The producers have helpfully made sure that lots of Kuna women are present and they all wear colorful blouses, but only one wears a matching one. All the molas have different patterns so finding the matching one is fairly simple. There is no matching of colors or minute details needed.
The first challenge seems to be to find the marked kiosk where they cal select their mola. For some reason Karen has a hard time finding this.
"After a while all the molas start looking the same", Korey
"I design patterns for a living, and Adam is doing this detour", Andrea
"I try to eliminate some but it is hard because they keep constantly walking around", Ryan
"Can I see your Kuna?", Ryan gets the title (and is wrong, she is of the Kuna tribe and wears a mola)
Once they find a Kuna woman wearing a matching mola they must bring her back to the stand.
"This is the longest walk of my life. The woman is walking very slowly next to me", Paul
After finally finding the marked Kiosk Karen has a hard time finding The Kuna women. She keep searching the market by the seawall instead of making her way into the old town where the women are.
"It can't be just on the regular street. I know it can't", Karen is wrong
Karen keep searching but doesn't find anything. She is considering taking the penalty when she goes back to Bert. He comforts her and reminds her to read the clue. And there it clearly says where the women are.
Ryan is looking for a pattern with four butterflies. But he can not find anybody with such a mola. So he brings back the lady he finds who has two butterflies instead. And that turns out to be correct.
Teams complete this road block in the following order (* denotes team member doing the roadblock):
1(+3)Sam & Paul* (3-4)2(+1)Adam* & Andrea (4-3)3(-1)Kenneth & Ryan* (3-4)4(+1)Korey* & Ivana (4-3)5(-4)Karen* & Bert (4-3)

Down for the Count:

The beer detour takes place at Hotel las Clementinas. Teams must correctly identify the characteristic ingredient in 5 different beers. They are given a list of 14 different ingredients. It seems the correct answer is: Vanilla, Salt, Chocolate, Mango and Orange.
Teams are given five glasses of beer, water, crackers and a spit bucket. They can get the glasses refilled at any time. And Sam & Paul use that right liberally. We do not get to see anybody use the spit bucket.
In down for the count teams must make their way to a boxing gym. Here they must suit up and learn a series of six different boxing combinations. The combinations are listed on the wall:
--- Quote --- Today's Routine
Rutina de Hoy
Combo 1:
Left Jab / Left Jab / Right Cross
Combo 2:
Left Jab / Right Cross / Left Hook / Right Uppercut
Combo 3:
Left Jab / Right Cross / Left Hook / Right Cross
Combo 4:
Left Jab / Left Jab / Right Cross / Left Uppercut
Combo 5:
Right Cross / Left Hook / Right Cross
Combo 6:
Right Cross / Left Uppercut / Right Hook
--- End quote ---
The beer detour turns out to be very hard. So hard that every team which attempts it eventually switches to boxing.
"This is really good beer. And it is going down smooth", Sam & Paul
"I work as a chef. I love experiencing different beers, trying different flavors, I trust my pallet 100%", Kenneth
Sam & Paul get 4/5 on their first try (they are not told this) as does Kenneth & Ryan (they said Apple instead of Mango), but from there on their results get progressively worse.
"5 different beers, so many different flavors here on the table. And I have no idea what this word means", Adam holds up the "Cardamom" sign
Eventually Sam & Paul decide to cut their losses and switch. Adam & Andrea last a little longer before they also switch.
"We could figure this out", Kenneth want to stay with the beer
So Kenneth & Ryan stay a while longer but eventually they also give up and switch to Boxing.
Teams arrive at the boxing gym in the following order:
1(+3) Korey & Ivana
2(-1) Sam & Paul
3(+2) Karen & Bert
4(-2) Adam & Andrea
5(-2) Kenneth & Ryan
Korey & Ivana feel confident going into the boxing detour since they are both personal trainers.
"I've punched Adam a few times growing up", Andrea
"That was exhausting. I don't think I have ever sweat this much in my entire life", Sam
We also learn that Bert is left handed. Therefore he started learning the combination using the wrong hands. Eventually they realize he has to do it exactly as written on the board so he has to relearn the routine.
Teams complete the detour in the following order:
1(+0) Korey & Ivana, boxing
2(+0) Sam & Paul, started beer but switched to boxing
3(+1) Adam & Andrea, started beer but switched to boxing
4(+1) Kenneth & Ryan, started beer but switched to boxing
5(-2) Karen & Bert, boxing

number.
--- End quote ---
Teams must now learn the drum major moves needed to lead this 120 piece band. That is both team members must learn the moves and will then perform them standing next to the real drum major in front of the band. The moves are complex and hard but the judging is fairly lax.
To start with teams must dress up in band uniforms. And there is only a restricted set of sizes available so Korey, who is a big guy, can not zip up his shirt and he can not get his feet all the way into the shoes.
To spare the musicians only the percussion section is playing as the contestants try to lead the band.
"Sweep the floor and make it twirl", Ivana describes some of the moves
"You can't fake your way through this challenge, it is tough", Ivana after failing once
We learn that Kenneth played the Clarinet in the Marching Band in High School.
This challenge seems hard and eventually all team arrive and are practicing next to each other.
"We have been here for hours. This challenge is the most frustrating challenge of the whole race", Ivana
Teams complete this task in the following order:
1(+1) Sam & Paul, on their first attempt
2(-1) Korey & Ivana, on their 3rd attempt
3(+2) Kenneth & Ryan, on their first attempt
4(-1) Karen & Bert, on their first attempt
5(-2) Adam & Andrea, on their 4th attempt
The next clue is a selfie with Jon in front of a set of giant colorful letters spelling PANAMÁ.
It turns out that there are two PANAMÁ signs in Panama City. If you look at the details in the photo, there are skyscrapers in the picture they get, you can figure out which one they need to go to. But the racers have no chance of knowing this and not all taxi drivers realize this either.
Korey & Ivana are not far behind Sam & Paul when they leave the drum major task. So it is down to a taxi race. Unfortunately for Korey & Ivana their driver take them to the wrong sign. And it is about a 17 minutes drive (11km) to the right one.
Karen & Bert are also taken to the wrong sign which seals their fate.
Teams reach Jon at the pit stop in the following order:
1(+0) Sam & Paul, win a trip to New Orleans
2(+1) Kenneth & Ryan
3(+2) Adam & Andrea
4(-2) Korey & Ivana
5(-1) Karen & Bert, are saved by a non elimination

Amazing Race Canada Season 5, Episode 9, "It's Like Finding Waldo In a Bunch of Waldos"
Film date: probably 2017-05-15 - 2017-05-17
The last pit stop was at one of the big PANAMA signs in Panama City, Panama. Teams are released from the Miraflores locks (also in Panama City) in the following order:
1.Sam & Paul 11:512.Kenneth & Ryan 12:10+0:193.Adam & Andrea 12:29+0:384.Korey & Ivana 12:52+1:015.Karen & Bert 13:47+1:56
The first route info directs teams to Regina, Saskatchewan. It also warns that there is a double U-turn ahead. Teams get USD460 for this leg of the race.
All teams are on the same flight to Regina via Toronto.
When they land they need to pick up a sponsor car. This is also where they will find their next clue.

Teams arrive at the school in the following order:

2. Adam & Andrea
3. Korey & Ivana
4. Kenneth & Ryan
5. Karen & Bert
The challenge for the teams is to squeeze orange juice. They are given a bunch of oranges and a manual juicer and must squeeze enough orange juice to fill two jugs. They must then pour this for a bunch of kids.
"I'm feeling the squeeze", Bert
Here we also learn that Andrea is a teacher.
Teams complete this task in the following order:
1(+0) Sam & Paul
2(+1) Korey & Ivana
3(+1) Kenneth & Ryan
4(-2) Adam & Andrea
5(+0) Karen & Bert
The next route info directs teams to Aulie Farms in Rouleau.
"We have to be first all day, because if Sam & Paul are ahead of us they're gonna U-turn us first", Ryan
Andrea also frets about the U-turn and thinks it is very important to not get lost.
Karen & Bert leave the school last but feel confident because they have a good map and have found a small road which looks like a shortcut.
Teams arrive to the farm (52km 39min) in the following order:
1(+0) Sam & Paul
2(+3) Karen & Bert, just after #1
3(+0) Kenneth & Ryan
4(+0) Adam & Andrea
5(-3) Korey & Ivana
Here Karen & Bert find their speed bump. They must clean up a horse stall. That is remove all the manure and spread new hay. Nothing complicated, just some good old fashioned physical labor.
"Hello, It's ripe in here", Karen
Detour: "The Cart" or "The Horse"
In the cart teams must figure out how to maneuver a huge conveyor machine into position over the grain cart. They must then use this conveyor to load 1000lb of canola seeds into the cart.
In the horse teams must become auctioneers and sell a horse. One team member must be the auctioneer and the other act as the bid catcher. The auctioneer must learn the history of the horse and present it and call out the asking price. The bid catcher must use hand signals to indicate the given bids. The bidding starts at $3000 or $4000 and they must get at least $6000 for the horse.
The auction is completely made up. Bidders will continue to bid until they reach $6000. The only requirement is that the auctioneer always raise the bid by $100 and that the bid catcher uses the hand signals. If they fail any of these requirements the auction is aborted and they have to go back and practice.
The cart detour is pretty straightforward but takes longer. The biggest difficulty is finding the button which starts the conveyor belt. There seems to be only three conveyors available but I guess that once a team is done the producers reset and bring it back to its starting position.
"I have no idea even how to turn this thing on", Paul is baffled by the conveyor
"It's gotta be simple, right? What that? Not a button", Andrea tries to figure out how to start the conveyor belt
As Karen & Bert leave the detour Sam & Paul and Adam & Andrea come back. Bert realize they have been U-turned.
"Hey guys, be nice to me, I'm a city girl", Andrea to the auction crowd
Teams complete the detour in the following order:
1(+2) Kenneth & Ryan, horse, on their 1st attempt
2(+3) Korey & Ivana, horse, on their 2nd attempt
3(-2) Sam & Paul, cart
4(+0) Adam & Andrea, cart
5(-3) Karen & Bert, cart
4(-1) Sam & Paul, horse, on their 1st attempt
5(-1) Adam & Andrea, horse, on their 2nd attempt
Teams must now make their way to the Dog River Hotel in Rouleau. Here they will find the double U-turn board.
"Sam & Paul, you're getting U-turned", Ryan wants to pay back for the previous U-turn
1(+0) Kenneth & Ryan, U-turns Sam & Paul
2(+0) Korey & Ivana, U-turns Adam & Andrea
3(+0) Sam & Paul
4(+0) Adam & Andrea
5(+0) Karen & Bert
"The Giver boys just U-turned us. No surprise, we're gonna go and kill the other detour", Paul
The next clue directs teams to Moose Jaw, SK, where they will need to find Crescent park. They arrive in the park in the following order:
1(+0) Kenneth & Ryan
2(+3) Karen & Bert
3(-1) Korey & Ivana
4(+0) Sam & Paul
5(+0) Adam & Andrea
Here they must create a piece of modern art using 250 cans of sponsor soup. The motif is a replica of a maple leaf. Once they are done a superfan will give them their next clue.
One extra requirements is that the labels should all be facing backwards and have the can should have correct side up. Kory & Ivana is the only team seen failing this when they leave one can standing upside down. Unfortunately for them this is near the bottom of the sculpture and most of it collapses when they try to fix it.
"That my friends is karma", Andrea when Korey & Ivanas sculpture collapses
"Stupid challenge", Adam when their sculpture falls
Adam seems to loose his spark once their sculpture collapses just as Korey & Ivana is close to complete theirs. Andrea has to take on the big sister role (even tough she is younger).
Teams complete this challenge in the following order:
1(+0) Kenneth & Ryan
2(+0) Karen & Bert
3(+1) Sam & Paul
4(-1) Korey & Ivana
5(+0) Adam & Andrea
The next clue tells them to drive to Grandpa's Garden where they must search for their next clue.
Teams arrive to this clue box in the same order they left the soup can task.
Road block: "Who think's it is good to be the queen?"
In this road block racers have to don protective clothing and then search through a set of honeycombs with over 20,000 bees for the one and only queen.
"This challenge could totally be luck of the draw", Kenneth
"There's a lot of buzz about the job we're doing here", Bert
"Cloud that beee her?", Bert is a fountain of one-liners
"It's like finding Waldo in a bunch of Waldos", Andrea gets the title
This challenge is hard and depends quite a lot on. The queen is just a little bigger than the rest of the bees and there are lots of honeycombs to search.
Teams complete this road block in the following order (* denotes team member doing the roadblock):
1(+2)Sam* & Paul (4-4)2(-1)Kenneth* & Ryan (4-4)3(-1)Karen & Bert* (4-4)4(+0)Korey & Ivana* (4-4)5(+0)Adam & Andrea* (4-4)
Route info: Drive yourselves to the home of the Snowbirds and search for Jon and your next pit stop.
Teams must now make their way to the 15 Wing Moose Jaw Canadian Armed Forces Base
"We're hoping that Korey & Ivana are on their way to another province right now", Andrea
"Whats a hangar? Is that a building?", Ivana (in the car)
"That's where the planes hang", Korey
Teams reach the pit stop in the following order:
1(+0) Sam & Paul, win a trip to Costa Rica
2(+0) Kenneth & Ryan
3(+0) Karen & Bert
4(+0) Korey & Ivana
5(+0) Adam & Andrea, are eliminated

All Aboard!
In this 150 challenge,

Seven painting to its art
critique while riding the
Agawa Canyon Tour
Train to receive your
next clue.

Teams must travel to an intersection and board the train. On the train they will find the titles and descriptions of 14 group of seven paintings. For example:
--- Quote ---"THE WHITE PINE" 1948
A GREEN TREE STANDS BOLDLY IN THE MIDDLE OF A BEIGE AND GREY ROCK IN
THIS WORK. A LARGE DARK GREY MOUNTAIN FILLS THE BACKGROUND.
--- End quote ---
In the next car they can find prints of each. They must use these and the descriptions to find and memorize the title of each painting. When they are ready racers must enter the last car where their knowledge will be put to the test when they have to identify all 14 paintings.
The train ride takes 30 minutes and if they haven't passed the task by then they have to ride again.
When teams arrive at the intersection they see a sign that the train departs at 12:03. Sam & Paul have trouble navigating but arrives just in time for the first departure.
The judging is fairly strict. For example a common mistake is to call one paining "White Pine" when the real name is "The White Pine", and you do get rejected if you forget the "The".
Teams complete this challenge in the following order:
1. Sam & Paul, just before the trains starts the second trip
The other teams have to take another ride which puts them 30 minutes behind
2. Kenneth & Ryan
3. Karen & Bert
4. Korey & Ivana, got it just before the train left again

limit to receive your next
clue.
I'll Cast It: Cast a fishing

The Alpaca detour takes place on mockin'bird hill pioneer farm. Here racers must choose and halter two alpacas and then lead them through an obstacle course in under 3 minutes. Production has provided a bunch of kids which act as spectators which lends a festive feel to this detour.
The fishing detour takes place in Kinsmen lake. Teams must put on hip-waders and enter the water and cast a fishing fly into three different targets floating on the water.
"You guys are kind of freaky", Paul meets the Alpacas
The Alpaca detour is fairly easy IF you get a cooperating Alpaca. There is plenty of time to complete the course. And it turns out that you are allowed to switch Alpacas between attempts.
Sam & Paul have a 30 minute lead and seem to have no big issues on the detour. As they are driving away form it they pass Kenneth & Ryan who are on their way to the detour. So it took Sam & Paul just under 30 minutes to complete the detour.
"Fishing is one of my favorite pastimes", Korey
"Neither of us fish, but we figure it is like target practice", Karen
"We don't have any control over these animals", Ryan (which is why you should avoid detours with animals)
Kenneth & Ryan have a very hard time with this detour. They change Alpacas multiple times until they finally find a pair which manages to complete the course without lying down or knocking something over.
Teams complete this detour in the following order:
1(+0) Sam & Paul, Alpaca on their 2nd attempt
2(+2) Korey & Ivana, Fishing
3(+0) Karen & Bert, Fishing
4(-2) Kenneth & Ryan, Alpaca on their 13th attempt
--- Quote ---FACE OFF
Let's hit the ice for
another Face Off!
Meet at centre ice and

an original Canadian
game called Crokicurl.
--- End quote ---
This version of Crockicurl is played with curling stones on ice. Teams take turns and the goal is to have as many stones as close to the center as possible. One special rule is that if the other team have any stones in the points zone, you must hit at least one of them.
As usual teams must win their match to be allowed to get their next clue. And the last teams must wait for a hourglass to run out (probably 20 minutes).
Today's surprising fact is that Sam's grandfather was a famous curler. And the judge actually knew him.
Sam & Paul arrive first so they get to choose if they want to have the first stone or not in their first match. They select to have the first stone, which seems to be a mistake. There is an advantage in having the last stone as this can not be knocked out by the opposing team.
Teams leave the face-off in the following order:
1(+1) Korey & Ivana, win against Sam & Paul
2(-1) Sam & Paul, win against Karen & Bert
3(+1) Kenneth & Ryan, win against Karen & Bert
4(-1) Karen & Bert

Teams must make their way to Mill Market and find the insectarium. There the non-participating team member must put their head into a transparent box (with air holes). They will then get a bunch (about 43) of giant cockroaches dumped on them. The team member doing the road block must then correctly count the number of cockroaches of each of four different species.
Teams arrive to the road block in the same order they left the face off. But this time we can calculate the time differences between them.

"Ohhh ****", Korey is not happy about this
"I have become one with the cockroaches", Korey have been in there for about 30 minutes
"I'm terrified", Bert does not like insects
As Korey & Ivana are preparing to leaver Bert pleads that they should tell Karen the numbers.
"We love you guys, good luck", Ivana does not tell them
Bert is having a really hard time with this task. He has no hair so he feels very well when the giant cockroaches walk on his head. He keep trying to shake them off, which just makes it that much harder for Karen to count them.
After the other teams have left Karen asks Bert if he wants to take the penalty, but he gathers his strength and tell her:

--- Quote ---ROAD BLOCK
Who's going to fall for
this road block?
--- End quote ---
In this road block one team member must climb down a cargo net to retrieve their next clue. The catch is that the cargo net hangs from a bridge on top of the Montmorency falls. Once they have the clue they must climb back up again.
The bottom of the cargo net is secured by a steel wire so the net is fairly stable. This make the task a lot easier, but it is still quite exhausting.
Sam & Paul is the only team which tells their taxi to go directly to the top of the falls. The other arrive at the bottom, which is where most tourists go. Both teams there take a look at the long lines to the gondola and figure out that you can drive up there and that it is faster.
"This is absolutely insane", Sam
Sam & Paul have a fairly big lead here. As they are leaving the road block location they meet the other teams who are just arriving.
Ryan and Korey start neck and neck but Ryan has more energy for the climb back up again. In fact Korey is so tired that he looses his grip when he's almost at the top. The safety lines catch him and he doesn't really fall any distance, but still he has to get back under control again.
"I think his muscles gave out. I can feel his pain right now", Ivana
Teams complete this road block in the following order (* denotes team member doing the roadblock):
1.Sam & Paul* (5-5)2.Kenneth & Ryan* (5-5)3.Korey* & Ivana (5-5)
The next clue directs teams downtown to Place de Bordeaux. Here one team member must jump onto a bike rickshaw. The other team member must act as the dispatcher and direct their cycling partner. They must then pick up three different customers from different places and deliver them. The passengers are holding colored cards so that the rider know which passengers to pick up. The customers do not seem to say anything, instead it is the dispatcher who knows where to pick them up and where to deliver them.
The rider and the dispatcher can only communicate via a pair of walkie-talkies.
Sam & Paul must have lost some time getting here because Paul is still getting to know the bike when Kenneth & Ryan show up.
An additional difficulty in this task is that almost all street names are in French. And pronouncing them over the radio is hard.
"How do you say that?", Ryan just tried to pronounce a street
"I know he's over here somewhere but I have no idea where", Sam has trouble directing Paul
Teams complete the deliveries and return in the following order:
1(+0) Sam & Paul, Paul rode the rickshaw
2(+0) Kenneth & Ryan, Kenneth rode the rickshaw
3(+0) Korey & Ivana, Ivana rode the rickshaw
The next clue directs teams to the Carnaval de Québec warehouse. This is where the props for the winter festival are stored during the summer. Teams will have to search for one of three Bonhomme figures holding their next clue. The Bonhomme is the carnival mascot and there are lots of dolls and statues of him in the warehouse.
To make it more interesting one of the statues is no statue but rather a guy in a suite who chooses an appropriate moment to move and scare the racers.
"Joyeux Carnaval!", The Bonhomme
Korey & Ivan arrive at the warehouse as Kenneth & Ryan are still searching for the clue.
"This is not funny", Ivana after she has recovered from the shock of a talking Bonhomme.
Teams find a Bonhomme with a clue in the following order:
1(+0) Sam & Paul
2(+0) Kenneth & Ryan
3(+0) Korey & Ivana
The next clue is just a box of chocolate bound with red and yellow bands. On the box you can read Erics Chocolat Frais. On the back it reads "Trade in for the next clue". Inside the box is a folder from the Chocolate museum.
In exchange for the small box of chocolate teams get a giant chocolate egg. Teams have to crack it to find the clue inside.

Who's about to wish they
had done the first road
block?
The team member who

net road block MUST
attempt this road block.
--- End quote ---
This road block takes place at Observatoire de la capitale, which is the tallest building in town. The participating team member must scale this 31 stories high building. Jon say the have to pull themselves up the building. But in reality there is a motor which does most of the pulling. They must just keep an even pressure downwards on another rope to keep being pulled up.
Once at the top contestants must scan the city below to spot the location of their next clue. This is marked by a red and yellow piece of cloth on the roof of a building.
Teams arrive here in the same order they found the clue in the warehouse. And climbing the building seems to take about the same time for everybody.
Kenneth & Ryan arrive as Sam is almost at the top. And Sam is still looking for the clue when Kenneth reach the top.
"This is crazy hard", Sam is looking for the next clue
Sam and Kenneth spot the next clue almost simultaneously. Unfortunately for Kenneth what he spotted was the flag of the university. When he and Ryan arrive there they realize that he made a mistake and they go back to the Observatorie where Kenneth have to climb the side of the building again. This time he spot the right clue from the roof.
Meanwhile Ivana is searching the roof itself for the next clue. It takes a while of searching before she realize they clue is not on the roof but rather can be seen from the roof.
"I spent 15 minutes searching for the clue", Ivana
Teams complete this road block in the following order (* denotes team member doing the roadblock):
1(+0)Sam* & Paul (6-5)2(+1)Korey & Ivana* (5-6)3(-1)Kenneth* & Ryan (6-5)
The next clue says "This one is puzzling" and directs teams to enter the library of the Morrin sector (which is right behind the clue box). Here they will find a giant (approximately 2mx2m) puzzle of Canada consisting of over 150 pieces as well as 10 challenge markers. They must first complete the puzzle and then figure out which 6 of the markers represent Canada 150 challenges which they did during the race and place them at the correct locations on the completed puzzle.
Kenneth & Ryan arrive last, but the other two teams are still here when they arrive. Sam & Paul and Korey & Ivana have adopted a strategy where they assemble parts of the puzzle on the floor and then transfer them to the big puzzle board. Kenneth & Ryan go directly for the board, and this seems to be a lot faster.
"Puzzles are supposed to be relaxing, this is the least relaxing puzzle ever", Sam feels the pressure
"Building those sections on the floor was a huge mistake", Sam realize they should have built on the board
"Canada's coming together like a piece of cake", Kenneth gets the title
From the editing it seems Kenneth & Ryan are the first to complete the puzzle. Now all they have to do is correctly place the six Canada 150 challenges. All the challenge markers are tasks they did on the race, but not all of the was labeled as Canada 150. Unfortunately Kenneth & Ryan have one of the challenges wrong so they are not done yet.
Meanwhile Sam & Paul are also complete the puzzle and are pretty sure they have 5 of the challenges down. They are trying to figure out which of Crokicurl, RCMP Musical Ride, Bonhomme, Morse Code and Canola is the last one. In the end they settle for Canola, which is right.
From what is shown it seems Korey & Ivana are way behind and have only completed about half their puzzle when Kenneth & Ryan leave.
Teams complete this task in the following order:
1(+0) Sam & Paul
2(+1) Kenneth & Ryan
3(-1) Korey & Ivana

Go, Go, Go!!!
--- End quote ---
Teams can now go to the finish line. This is a nail-biting taxi ride (30km 29min) away. As usual the editing tries to fool us into believing the second team is about to catch up.
"We went the completely opposite way", Paul when they took a wrong turn and had to ask for directions
"Sam & Paul, we're coming for you", Kenneth & Ryan have a driver who knows where the park is
Teams reach the finish line in the following order:
1(+0) Sam & Paul, win the cars, an around the world trip and $250,000 plus the title
2(+0) Kenneth & Ryan
3(+0) Korey & Ivana
"Gentlemen, 4 countries, 6 provinces, 17 cities and over 50,000km", Jon describes this race
"We just went on the adventure of a lifetime", Ryan
