Avi sucks and is unfortunately going to win. :res:

This entire season was a waste of time.

Reminds me of Kristie from last year Aus's version...

We are here for the 2 hour finale live from the Civic Theatre in Auckland!

We open with a recap of the season as we get to the final three of Barb, Tom and Avi. Who will be New Zealand's first ever Sole Survivor?

We open back at Casar for Day 38 where the three survivors celebrate together. Barb says Nate was adamant for her to make it to the end. Avi doesn't feel Nate will vote for her but he is fine with that. They feel the final jury will be interesting. Tom feels that it'll be between him and Avi for the win. They settle in for the final night at Camp.

Avi up first for Day 39 at Casar. Avi is proud of the game he has played over the last 6 weeks. Out on the beach a Breakfast feast awaits for the final three. Barb is trying not to think about her family because she gets emotional about them. She hopes her kids are proud of her for getting so far in the game. She came to challenge herself and for herself.

Tom is worried he may lose some votes because of the idea that Avi carried him over the line.  The final three farewell camp as we head to the break.

Back from the break as we arrive for the final Tribal council. Matt brings in the members of the jury. We have the opening statements from the survivors then the jury will make statements and ask questions to make an informed vote before the vote.

Tom says he has been excited about the idea of Survivor since he was a kid. As a teacher he is a role model for kids and wants to show that in his game.

Avi says he wanted to give everything to this game, keep his integrity intact and keep his honesty. He feels he fulfilled his goals for the game and trusts the jury.

Barb says she has achieved her greatest challenge in Survivor by making it this far. She felt like a dead man walking for 12 days but the tribe swap was her lifeline. She feels she is there because she was overlooked. She feels she will be an inspiration to people.

Shay asks Barb if she feels she has been a kind person, Barb feels she hasn't treated anyone disrespectfully and feels she has been kind. She asks Avi what do you think the youth of New Zealand can learn from how he played? He feels that being respectful and kind can go far. She asks Tom if he has anything to say to her. Tom has nothing against her as a person but feels her gameplay was quite intense.

Jak says that he thought Avi was a fake but says that Avi is as real as can be. He says Tom is a great friend while he respects Barb for getting so far but feels she might of been entitled and condensing.

Mike says that he agrees with everything Jak said about Barb but he feels that Tom wants to win more than Avi however would like Avi to convince him as we head to break.

Back from the break Avi responds by saying that he kept fighting and doesn't know if he wanted anything more.

Mike asks Tom if he has similar qualites as Avi as he wants a winner New Zealand can look up to. He wants everyone to be the best they can be which is what he tries to help people with everyday.

Nate wants to know when the plan changed with Avi as regards to final three. Avi isn't sure that Nate felt the same.

Shannon doesn't have a question for Barb because there is nothing at this point that she can say to change her mind. She asks Avi if just being the nice guy is enough to win. Avi says he worked really hard and played each aspect of the game. Shannon asks Tom if he thinks he would still be there without Avi. Tom says it was a two way streak.

Sala says that Tom's friends and family will be proud of him. Sala is happy for Avi to make it to the final three and that Barb isn't really respectful and didn't help in camp life.

Lee feels that luck got each of them there and wants to know if they had no good luck if they would still be sitting there. Tom and Avi answer yes but Barb says no.

Matt says it is now time to vote. The only votes shown are Sala for Avi while Jak votes for Tom. Matt thanks everyone for a great season of Survivor and that we will tally the votes in New Zealand on Day 40 as we head to break.

We are back and in the Civic Theatre in Auckland with all the Survivors (except Di and Tony?)  on stage!

Lou is doing well and Matt is happy that Jak is wearing clothes tonight. It all comes down to this.

The crowd is excited! First vote Avi, Second vote Tom, Third vote Avi, Fourth Vote Avi, Fifth vote and the winner is Avi! Avi is New Zealand's first sole survivor!!

Matt asks Avi how he is feeling right now and he says this is a dream come through. Avi goes into the crowd to see his friends and family with tears in his eyes.

After the break we'll talk to Barb and later the Gem people's choice award!

Back from the break we look back at the introduction to our Final three from the first episode as well as how they progressed throughout the game.

Matt says the hardest gameplay aspect for New Zealand to take on was strategy which leads us to Barb and look back at her game. Barb says that the final tribal council was very edited and more brutal than what we saw.

Matt asks if Avi and Tom are comfortable with the beating she took, Avi wasn't but wishes he could of at the time. Tom says that the unfair comments weren't shown which was good.

Tom mentions some of the comments and Sala does regret some of his comments as does Shannon.

After the break we'll talk about Tom's game.

This season was a waste of time, enjoyed Australian Survivor more, cannot wait for Season 2 of that instead, good job NZ, another franchise ruined (after ruining TARAUS)!

That said, THANK YOU Samual for all the recaps <3 While this season was not fun, reading your recaps were, and I absolutely loved and appreciated your work throughout the season!  :conf:

Back from the back we look at Tom's road to the final three.

Matt asks if he felt he choked at the final tribal with pleading his case.

Tom believes he kind of did. Matt asks who voted for Tom and Jak was the only one. Matt says it's a man crush but Jak says it was a full blown man crush. Mike says that Avi played it better but they played into a ongoing joke that Mike didn't know how Avi's name was spelt, He spelt it as Rv haha.

Matt asks if anyone would of changed their vote after watching the show. Nate said he would of voted for Tom after watching his journey.

We have a look at Mike's success at Redemption Island

Mike says that he only really had his tight five at first. Georgia doesn't think that the tight five were arrogant. They discuss the relationship between Mike and Georgia with jokes thrown around and Mike choosing the wrong words haha.

Back from the break we'll talk with Avi.

We are back with a look at Avi's game.

Avi said his game after Sala left and he got more involved with everyone. Avi says he is glad Tom made it to the end because he said from day one Tom was the biggest threat and he wanted to beat the biggest threat.

Tony and Shay say that Avi deserved the win.

After the break we will be giving away the Gem People's choice award

Back from the break as we get some light fun moments from the show that wasn't seen.

We have the people's choice award and the winner is Sala! Sala is humbled and says he respects Barb for the blindside.

Matt thanks the survivors, the crowd and those at home for their support as we close out Survivor: New Zealand S1.

I had fun with the first season though it wasn't great.

No word on a Season 2 yet but hopefully we get one and possibly an Amazing Race: NZ.
