No, they were only not working well for two-three legs. Which is similar for Justin and Diana's case.
Dave and Rachel's saving grace is at least both of them are not annoying. )-**

Another thing possible is:
We have the order wrong... T/K (who were spotted saying they outdid the other team and that they are first in Hong Kong) are actually first with J/D, and Justin is crying in the roadblock because Diana is really struggling and he feels bad, then they finish in first the RD, then the other teams arrive at the RB (the preview).
THEN, J/D do something to get a penalty, Then cheerleaders arrive seconds after J/D and are super stress but they are not out.
and maybe the reaction that justin has (when he gets down on the floor) is that he actually just survived and the reporters are actually going home.. i mean they don't look too please, and we don't have any proof they make the finale!
