The funniest thing for me this episode: How much they butchered the words "Fraternite, Egalite, Liberte"!
It was priceless!

I barely passed four years of French in high school, including AP French and even I could tell their pronunciation was absolutely horrible.  Teams should have been turned away at the Road Block, even though none of the words on the ground had the accents.  But at the rap, yikes!  They were mumbling and slurring through just like Denise, but still passed.  It was even worse when the lyrics on screen were obviously not what the teams were rapping.

That was TAR Philippines S2-levels of leniency.  (Props if you know what I'm talking about. lolol)

I think this is the first time since TAR18 that we've had two KOR legs.

So the team came first in KOR leg had no prize any more? Justin and Diana won last two KOR then received nothing.

Nice leg! I think it's the best leg of the season at the moment, for me.

The bad thing is that I don't want to see Denise and James Earl being eliminated. :( Let's hope the last team of this KOR won't be eliminated, like the last one.

From the updates alone, I am now very interested in watching this episode today. :trampb: Sounds like I missed a fun leg with lots of French mispronunciations, drama, and great moments. I like the TAR12 Taiwan-style route in this leg: taking a train to a different city for a stunt task, then travel back to the inner city on train again for the remainder of the leg.

Before I read any of the commentaries...

I decided not to wake up early because I just had a busy week and I needed sleep, but what I have to say about the episode: It was somewhat underwhelming. :gnome

I'm glad the focus on the rivalry was lost. That's a good thing at least.

The roadblocks this leg were similar to the roadblocks of the last 2 legs. One required looking for something from a vehicle with wings, the other was a bungee jump. I don't get why production decided on using these as roadblocks. :gaah:

The detour was fine though. The rapping detour reminded me of the Austrian roadblock in TAR23. They both require language and musical skills, and such tasks like these are rare. The other detour was an attention-to-detail, which is common but good in my opinion as long as it's not overdone.

Only a few moments interested me, so it was an underwhelming episode, but I like how the Paparazzi fell behind on a simple roadblock while not being eliminated at the end. I like teams falling behind while being able to catch up to others. The struggle of Denise & JE added some flavor to the episode too. I also like how the Cheerleaders are improving! :hearts: I wish ChacAttack made it to the 1st train. It would've been fun to see them compete against Justin & Diana while the latter team was struggling. Meanwhile, poor Justin & Diana winning 3 legs but only winning 1 prize overall.

That's all I can say. The preview from last week wasn't exciting, and this episode wasn't too. :( The good news is that I will get to see the teams race at late afternoon and hopefully at night. :hearts: I miss night legs, and I just realized that this race never had teams racing to the pit stop at dark yet. Hopefully, next week will be better. :hoot:

If Justin and Diana wins I'll be REALLY SURPRISED. Their edit is like... the editors will be crazy to put them in such a bad light and let viewers be VERY UPSET with the outcome of the show.

Then again, Flo won. :funny:

I actually see their edit VERY differently.

I have seen nothing that paints them in a bad light.

Justin has clearly had the SUPERFAN edit. That is his casing hook, it is what got them casted, so of course that is what will be their storyline.

They have been showing how his super-enthusiasm has annoyed the others, how it comes across as OTT...but that is not a bad light..it is more an edit of the others' response to him. Again, part of his storyline.

Now they are showing Diana emerging from her editing cocoon, with some occasional sparks and differences of opinion. Again, not a "bad edit", just showing some real life feelings and emotions. I see her standing up more for tasks choices, and I say go for it!! She is more than holding up her end, she has done two tasks that had to be a extraordinarily difficult for someone with a fear of heights. Both without drama or complaints.. just asking for some extra kisses before. I think their edit is showing us how the race could be stimulating some relationship growth. A favorable storyline.

From my point of view this is all interesting to watch. Why do the other teams react to Justin the way they do? How is their relationship growing? None of which I perceive as a bad edit. Just telling the story as it unfolds, but I think it has been fair to date.

JMO, I am enjoying watching them in action!

I cringed at all the mispronunciations this leg.  :gaah: Clearly shows that French isn't a popular second language.

Le Fantôme Blanc is also one of the creepiest characters to appear on the race. (And just in time for Halloween!)

Krista and Tiffany who crossed the road  :stare :funny: (:;) I know this road and there is a lot of car so it's really dangerous to cross these road outside of the crosswalk.

The detour with the rap song was horrible for my ears, the french pronunciation of the americans is really bad. However, a lot of french don't speak English or a few, and the English pronunciation of french is also bad!

The funniest thing for me this episode: How much they butchered the words "Fraternite, Egalite, Liberte"!

I only speak schoolgirl French, and that with a southern accent, but it hurt my ears too! Anyone who has watched Les Miserables should have been able to say those words, lol.

Has Ford dropped out as a sponsor? Usually we'd be hearing "teams will choose an all-new Ford..." yada yada, but no mention of them this season :P

They would have been in the credits by now. So sadly, I would say yes.

That's because you are biased in the first place already. I can easily find loads of comments about people who has something to say about Justin.

There is no way you can call Justin and Diane's edit positive in anyway. Anyone who really likes them the most as compared to the other teams please jump forward. There will be one or two, but not majority.

And that's the point I'm trying to make, that people will prefer other teams more than them, and if Justin and Diane wins, the whole season will be pretty much be underwhelming. Because honestly, the outcome of the race affects the whole season a lot.

Unless Justin suddenly really get a redeeming sort of edit. My gut feeling tells me Tanner and Josh has a high chance of bagging this.

We'll have to agree to disagree. That's what makes this interesting!!

As a superfan of sorts. I like them and don't mind their edit so far.

And sure, I can find loads of comments on most anything. That doesn't mean I agree! :funny:

The funniest thing for me this episode: How much they butchered the words "Fraternite, Egalite, Liberte"!
It was priceless!

I would've butchered it too. :stare But when I read it first from the roadblock title, I think I read it properly. It's probably because of the accent marks not appearing on the words on the ground, but even with the accent marks, not everyone can pronounce it properly. :stare

I think this is the first time since TAR18 that we've had two KOR legs.

I miss having more than one of those. :yess:

So the team came first in KOR leg had no prize any more? Justin and Diana won last two KOR then received nothing.

:( It's called bad luck, but I don't think it's fair too since there used to be a prize back then.

Justin & Diana have a Misti & Jim edit lol (Although I love the latter 1000000000000% more).

Both teams dominated early, the guy got on the nerves of some teams, they had a completely trainwreck leg (Leg 1 for Justin, Leg 4 for Misti & Jim). And now we're at the point where they completely lose momentum but in a more OTT way (with the fighting).

If I had to try and detect a winner, it would definitely be Tiffany & Krista. They're really getting the underdog edit right now, and while it is sometimes wrong (look @ Mike/Rochelle last season), the other two All Female winners have gotten the same thing. (Amy & Maya/Kisha & Jen).

Just my two cents

Additionally, does anyone think the constant focus on the Fitbit cards this leg means someone loses it next week? :O

Finally, I get to watch TAR in peace, but I always thought of the show whenever I took a sip of sparkling champagne at the event last night.

LEG 6 (Zimbabwe --> France) EPISODE REVIEW
Drink: Champagne from last night's party
Without even the slightest hesitation, we were smacked in the face with another bungee swinging Roadblock in Zimbabwe! This episode sure started off "swinging". (input bad pun laugh)

1st ROADBLOCK: (Who wants to give Batoka Gorge's lesser known cavity a chance?)
I really don't see the point of this task other than to promote the FitBit. However, I enjoyed the view from beneath the bridge. Next, please.
1st ROADBLOCK SCORE: 6.5/10

And parallel to TAR1's first episodes, everyone was immediately en route to Paris and then on a train to another aviation service. That was probably more transportation shown than TAR22's Swiss train-mania.

2nd ROADBLOCK: (Who is ready to mispronounciate every word?)
Hearing the leniency the judge gave for atrocious French grammar was almost horrifying (Happy Halloween? :stirtp:). But I kind of expected that when the words were void of all accent marks. Other than that, a very basic, high-flying - yet cringeworthy - double Roadblock.
2nd ROADBLOCK SCORE: 6/10

Justin & Diana kept a giant lead ahead everybody else until here: (points to map) Also, I loved how everybody went pass the White Phantom at the front of the walkways.

DETOUR: (Go Rappin' or Get Crackin')
This Detour kept reminding me of scenes from the Mr. Bean's Holiday Vacation movie from both of these options. :funny: Finally, French receives some justice from this leg with a rigorous language lesson. Although the music video editing was a bit much, I loved how teams were able to struggle with the pronunciations. I am surprised some of them didn't decide to shuck seafood with their "butchering skills" from the previous task. Speaking of that, I would have loved more crab shucking scenes. The edit was kind of bias toward the rapping Detour.
DETOUR SCORE: 9/10

And another Switchback Pit Stop after going to Pont Alexander III, the Arc de Triomphe! And hold on a second... the leg isn't over again? :ascared

OVERALL: 8/10

:( It's called bad luck, but I don't think it's fair too since there used to be a prize back then.

I remembered in TAR7, for every 3rd episode (if you split the double leg in India into two episodes), no first place prize was given. Lynn and Alex, Uchenna and Joyce and Ron and Kelly (x2) didn't receive a prize in those episodes, while Rob and Amber came in first only in the episodes that gave out the prizes. I remembered that led to one member in Sucks saying that the race was biased against gays, veterans and blacks.
