On TAR25/26...
-Not all teams are shown reading the clue when they get it
-Not all teams are shown departing the Pit Stop
-Not all teams are shown in airport scramble (they already get on the flight and it sucked)
-Not all teams are told of their placement upon checking in at the Pit Stop.

On 27 so far is is 100% worse because...
-It has all the problems above and more
-The editing is just so sloppy, you never feel like it's a proper Race. We would stay at a task for loads of minutes, then the minute a team gets to the next task, we get a lot of focus there, and all the other teams are just shown as "getting their clue" in the most basic way possible of just flashing their name with the CURRENTLY IN XTH PLACE subtitle.
-There is simply too much focus on the tasks rather than the competition. It is always more fun to see teams chasing after each other getting stuff rather than see them do a task.

And the thing that 100% sucks is that the Secret Scenes (more so this season than 25-26) have all scenes that could have been edited in for an amazing episode. A lot of the Secret Scenes are definitely good and would have helped the show. Full scenes such as teams getting lost, the reveal of a reason that eliminated a team, a team having a meltdown on an otherwise uninspired Detour are all on the Secret Scenes, and it really is mind-boggling that they would choose to omit those amazing scenes and keep terrible ones in.

So yes... TAR needs to step it up with editing. Even if the tasks aren't culturally relevant 100% of the time, the editing would really help! (See 24 Kuala Lumpur, arguably my favorite leg from that atrocity of a season... bad, culturally irrelevant tasks and some of the teams were total garbage but very fun editing and competition made it a good ep)

We had:
-The amazing revelation that Danielle is afraid of ketchup <3
-Cindy & Rick somehow failing to put on a poncho as they ran to start the leg
-Tanner & Josh not only misusing their Express Pass, but staying in a TENT outside of the hotel while EVERYONE got a room
-More fun Kelsey & Joey strategy talk <3
-Some Mona & Beth/Kym & Alli style editing that could have been used to paint Justin as this threat that everyone talks trash about and wants him out (could have DEFINITELY enhanced the story for this leg by showing both teams as having a slightly heroic edit to the audience[Tanner & Josh (evil)- Justin & Diana (good) and get their plans foiled].
-Jazmine & Danielle not only crossing the border early but running past the HoO board THREE times
-More Cindy & Rick gossiping about the EP <3
-Cindy & Rick giving out a confessional about naming their Giraffe at the Detour then Rick saying they named their sofa Oscar the Couch

IDK, it was just really so weird that the editors would leave out fun stuff like that in favour of spending THIRTY minutes on a Roadblock all about heights that was linear in nature and didn't do much other than give us gorgeous Victoria Falls =/

I should watch those secret scenes. However, it doesn't work on my geographic location. :(

But, I am here to say that those scenes would fit really well on show! They don't have to be all in the secret scenes. I'm not sure if TAR will be allowed to always have the show for 90 minutes instead of the usual 60 (43 minutes without commercials?), but I'm open to the idea of having them extend the show to 90 minutes if they can and should.

If they can't, then they better listen to the viewers' opinions on the editing.

--- Quote from: Lutpay on October 17, 2015, 09:31:30 AM ---I still don't get the benefit of using U-turn which is placed right in front of pitstop. Eventhough you're second to last and you can see another team 20 seconds behind you, you can just make a quick run to the mat without wasting your U-turn, especially this early. Even you don't know where the other teams are, it doesn't matter, you already reach the pitstop.

I think this new placement of the U-turn is just for the team who'll be using it for personal reason or just to annoy their rival.

I agree 100%. This U-turn was completely useless and the only way it would be used was for vindictive reasons.

I found another possible way wherein the U-turn can be strategic.

Let's say there are 3 teams fighting for the bottom spots: A, B, and C. Let's say Team A and Team B are allies. Team A knows they're 6th while they also know that Team B is fighting for last, so Team A can U-turn Team C to save Team B.

This will only be useful for teams that are fighting for last, and since teams do not know that they have to keep racing, this can happen.

I wonder what will happen to the W-turn next week. If it goes unused... :groan: , because I wanna see some race drama. :hrt:

I don't get the hate. I think it was a strong episode.   :didimiss:

BritishTARFan:
i just wached the episode & people are saying that the detour was culturally irrelevent. I don't believe that entirely firstly the Croquet, Zimbabwe was a British colony so when it was colonised many rich British people came to Zimbabwe or Southern Rhodesia and left their mark. Also the Co-op detour was a look in to something many locals would make to earn a living and they are very popular among Zimbabwe. It was also my favourite episode i loved it!  :hearts:
