Previously on The Amazing Race Latin America...

Six teams reach the Athens of Ecuador.

Detour and Roadblock made them show their abilities. Juan & Ceci used the U-Turn without looking back and Stefa & Felipe were sent home.

Intro.

Alenaveda:
We're at the Ruinas of Pumapungo in the city of Cuenca; an important ceremonial center in the times of the Inca civilization. This was the 8th PS of a journey without pause across Ecuadorian soil. This is The Amazing Race...

Christian & Dina depart in first place.
RI: Make your way on taxi to the local Claro Customer Center and look in Internet for the territory located in the provided coordinates. A judge will surpervise the task and give them their next clue. 80 dollars for this leg of the race.

They run to the street. First couple of taxis don't stop, but the third one do it.

Javi & Nico start on second position.

On the cab, Ecuadorian couple talk about their relationship with Jenny & Martin and what happened at the Detour on the previous leg and the support people gave Dina while performing and their bouquet falling.

Argentina's friend also have some little problems getting a cab, but finally they jump into one and are on their way to the center.

JC & Gio depart in third and have problems with cabs too. The issue is, according to them, that all people is having lunch cause it's noon.

Christian & Dina arrive to the Claro Center. They have to make the search on notebooks. The coordinates are latitude 1 degree 20 minutes north and longitude 89 degrees 92 minutes west. And the answer is Galapagos Islands. They check with the judge, who handles them the following clue.
RI: Make your way on taxi to the Mariscal Lamar Airport of Cuenca and fly to the Galapagos Islands on the flight EQ170 of TAME Lineas Aéreas del Ecuador. Once arrived, take a bus to the Canal Itabaca where you will find the next clue.

Bros-in-law finally find a cab and go to the center. Almost at the same time, Javi & Nico reach that place. They make the search fast and also receive the next clue.

At the Ruinas, Jenny & Martin begin the leg in fourth position. And Juan & Ceci do it in last place.

JC & Gio are at the Claro Center. They perform the search and get their clue.

Teams start arriving to the airport.

Jenny & Martin make their job at the center, to receive the clue. Same thing for father and daughter.

All teams bunched in the same flight.

Jaime introduces the Galápagos Islands: these islands are a fundamental part of humanity's history. Starting from the coming of naturalist Charles Darwin to this place, the scientific thinking was transformed and the concept of life on this planet took another turn.

Plane lands and teams calmly walk together to the bus.
They travel to the Canal, and find the clue on a kayak.

Ecuadorian friends first to rip the clue.
RI: board a double kayak and row along the canal Itabaca until Santa Cruz. Once there, make your way on taxi until the Muelle Municipal de Puerto Ayora where you'll find the next clue.
Wow, I don't know if is a production order of a pact between them, but teams are getting the clues in the same order they started the leg.

They all receiving instructions together from an instructor. With all teams aligned, the guy blew a whistle and they run to the kayaks. At the classic mad dash started while carrying the kayaks to the water.

Juan falls to the water.

Alenaveda:
Juan falls to the water but quickly jumps again into the kayak.

All teams are rowing in the canal. Colombian couple get a early lead, but were surpassed by Christian & Dina and Javi & Nico. And it's a battle for first place between them.

At Santa Cruz, Ecuadorean friends arrive first but start asking for the next clue forgetting that they already knew what to do. That allows Javi & Nico to get a cab and leave the place in first.

Jenny & Martin are the third in reach their destiny, followed by JC & Gio right behind them. Juan & Ceci are last a little far behind. She admits that in the physical challenges they're weaker than the other teams.

While en route to the dock, Dina argues with Christian about his attitude; JC & Gio expects some underwater tasks; and Juan & Ceci hopes for mental challenges and not physical ones.

The bros-in-law surpass Colombian couple and the other Ecuadorean team on the route.

RB: Who's the most profound?
In this Roadblock teams must inmerse and explore the marine depths. First they had to travel in marked boats to the Franklin's Bay. Once there, team member have to submerge into the waters and search for the artificial alga with the race colors to exchange it for the next clue.
Nico chooses to do it.

Minutes later both Ecuador teams arrive. Gio will do the RB, and Christian too.  Father & daughter arrive in 4th, and Jenny & Martin in last place. Juan does the RB. And Jenny is the one performing it for her team.

All teams board their boats arriving the RB location almost at the same time.

NIco says that this is a challenge where he must face one of this fears. Christian talks about been asked also about the same item and he answered swimming surrounded by sharks, what it's exactly the situation at the RB.

Nico is the first to dive, followed by Gio and Christian.

And sharks can be seen everywhere.

Gio comments that it was about 4 meters deep and that he saw something. He took it and returned to the boat . Then they go for the judge.

Jenny also find their alga, doing the same as the Ecuadorians. Christian is the third to find it, and Nico is the number four.

Wow, Gio's alga is not the right one and have to go back to the searching area. The same happens with Jenny. Their algas don't have the race colors.

Nico & Javier have the right one and receive the next clue.
RI: travel on boat to the Muelle de la Playa de los Alemanes. Once arrived, make your way on foot to the beach where you'll find their next clue.

Christian & Dina have it right too, and get their clue.

At the searching area, Juan find the alga and Mexicans head torwards the judge. And they're right!

Finally, both Gio and Jenny located the correct alga and are going back to the judge. They're 4th. and 5th.

Nico & Javier boat driver goes in a different direction. And Javier is angry about the situation because all the other teams catch them.

And we're back...

Christian & Dina reach the dock at the Playa de los Alemanes first. Father & daughter are in second. JC & Gio third. Nico & Javi in fourth and Colombian couple in last.

Ecuadorean friends find the table in the beach with the clue.
RI: Answer the 5 questions questionnaire related to the importance of the Galapagos islands for mankind using the flags placed on the beach. Once you have the five flags, they must be delivered to the judge. If they're correct you'll receive the next clue.

Bros-in-law now in second, with Argentinean friends in third. Colombian couple get the clue in 4th, and Mexicans in last position.

Questions:

Answer: Evolution.

2. What discovered Darwin after visiting the Galapagos Islands?
Answer: Where we come from as a species.

3. What changed with Darwin's travel to the Galapagos Islands?
Answer: the scientific thinking.

Answer: Survival of the fittest.

5. What was the name of the ship used on Darwin's expedition?
Answer: HMS Beagle.

Christian & Dina know all the answer so they quickly pick the five flags. They present them to the judge who handle their next clue.
RI: travel back on your boat to Puerto Ayora. After arrival, pick a marked taxi and go to the vivarium of the Parque Nacional Galapagos where you'll find the following clue.
NOTE: YOU MUST KEEP YOUR TAXI.

JC & Gio also have their answers right and get their clue. They say it would have been a failure make a mistake on this task as Ecuadorians.

Nico & Javier only have 4 right answers, so they run into the flags and correct their mistake and finish the task in 3rd.

Juan & Ceci go to the judge, and some of their answers are wrong. The same with Colombian couple.

Finally, father and daughter discover what's wrong and change the flag, receiving the clue.
