It's down to the Final 3!

It was an historic nation vs nation battle as 10 teams shared a life-changing adventure on a race for national pride and $250,000..

They overcame the odds, fought their own demons... and each other.

The Aussie struggled at the start, but 1 by 1, the Kiwis fell. Now its an all Aus final!

Nurses Daniel & Ryan have charmed their way through but their sense of direction let them down. Will nice guys finish first?

For dating bodybuilders Sally & Tyson, size didn't matter. It was the strength of their love that carried them through, but will love be enough to win?

Newlyweds Ashleigh & Jarrod struggled with the language barrier, and put their relationship to the test. Will they overcome the pressure and finish first?

In a race of a lifetime, only one team can claim victory and a quarter of a million dollars.

Who will win The Amazing Race Australia vs New Zealand?

Fly to Hollywood, California!

Teams must search the carpark for their marked cars for their next clues.

Everyone's getting the same flight and Daniel & Ryan are researching directions... to where??

Make your way to Hollywood Boulevard and take your photo with film character 3 look-alikes of Australian-born actors...

Everyone is driving towards Hollywood.

Daniel & Ryan get lost early.

Sally & Tyson narrowly edge out Ashleigh & Jarrod to Hollywood and search for their look-alikes.

Ash & Jarrod take a photo with Hulk.

They need to pay for a photo first.

Daniel & Ryan finally arrive at Hollywood and get Hulk.

Sally & Tyson bypass Thor because Tyson doesn't think it's Australian... Ash & Jarrod get the photo.

Daniel & Ryan's photos are not accepted so they go back and get somebody to Google these actors and realise Olivia Newton John was born in the UK and take another photo instead.

Ashleigh & Jarrod arrive first at Pink's - mustard onion chilli cheese dogs!

Ashleigh: He hasn't got a very experienced pallette.

Daniel & Ryan finally get their clue and leave in last palce.

Sally & Tyson eat quickly with Jarrod only halfway through. The bodybuilders get their clue first!

Fly to Melbourne, Australia!

Daniel & Ryan arrive and start eating.

Jarrod thinks theirs is smaller too.

All three teams will take the same flight to Melbourne.

The teams are given business class services to Melbourne.

All teams are flight to Mebourne via Sydney due to arrive at 12:20pm the next day.

Teams get a clue in business class.

Name as many destinations as possible on the Virgin Australia map provided - the winners get to return to Hollywood as a prize.

Daniel & Ryan have won the prize. Good for you now go away plz.

We land in Melbourne and teams must take a taxi to Marraben Airport (no clue how that is spelled).

Everyone is off and racing.

Daniel & Ryan are taking their route.

And they are there first.

Travel by helicopter to the Otway Ranges and find a walkway.

Ash & Jarrod are there 2nd right behind, and Sally & Tyson bringing up the rear.

Everyone takes their helicopters.

Teams land and are running towards the clue.

Tyson with ANOTHER bathroom break gosh dang it.

Daniel & Ryan lead the way and get to the clue just ahead of Ash & Jarrod.

Return to helicopter and travel to Great Ocean Road and find 12 Apostles at Port Campbell and scour the coastline to find 3 pieces of a puzzle.

Sally & Tyson are finally directed to go down and go get the clue. They have time to make up.

So the 3 puzzles are Air, Land & Sea - firstly searching via Air for a clue.

Jarrod doesn't seem to know how binoculars work.

The leading teams are still searching with Sally & Tyson in hot pursuit.

Daniel & Ryan spot something on the ground and miss it but must turn around.

The other teams also sight something.

Daniel & Ryan see it - it says 'LOCH'.

Ashleigh & Jarrod still working on binoculars and Sally & Tyson read LOCH too. Those teams down to Land.

Ash & Jarrod can't see anything yet...

Daniel & Ryan get Piece 1 - in Land, teams must search a sandcastle on Port Campbell Beach for a hidden item and in Sea, paddle to a marked buoy to get their next clue.

Ashleigh & Jarrod still can't read it.

Ashleigh & Jarrod meltdown in helicopter.

Daniel & Ryan begin paddling as Tyson & Sally start searching sandcastles.

Tyson tackles the whole castle and they quickly find it and are off to paddle while Daniel & Ryan reach the buoy.

It's going to be arrange the costumes of the Pit Stop greeters.

I think it would have been a good finale if we didn't go to LA. Add 3 or 4 more good tasks in Australia and we could've had a contest. We only had 2 tasks per se here, but better than anything the Americans have done recently.

LA was done solily to have a VA busness class product placement for the LA - Melbourne flight.

I know nobody's going to believe this but this was the exact results I expected when I saw the final three teams. It's a little bit like a TAR 22 de javu, when we know the final 3 teams through spoilers and I knew Bates and Anthony was going to win all along (as much as I hoped Maxie will win as I was rooting for them).

When Al gave me the link to the photobucket account and all I could see were Ryan and Daniel's faces in most of the tasks (seems to leave beach task first), I knew they had it in the bag.

I loved it that they won, but I'm still bummed that none of the Kiwis made the F3.

Looking back on this season (ambiguous viewing schedule aside) it really was a great race. I don't think lived up to TARAUS2 (which is a hard act to follow) but it was certainly on par with the classic US seasons and better than their recent races. The route was stellar, so diverse and exciting, places you could only dream of! The challenges were varied, and most of them were relatively difficult which is what we want to see! Leg architecture was also evidently more thought out and improved a lot, so the producers are obviously taking our advice which is great! The cast was awesome too, some memorable characters and nice mix. I DO approve of the nation VS nation twist, it did make things exciting, but sometimes it was emphasised too much.. but I wouldn't mind seeing it again. Finale was also much better than the last two. All in all it was a really good season, and I hope the show gets renewed for a few more!

Just realised the F5 teams were all in danger of elimination on at least 1 leg this season! Carla and Hereni nearly got eliminated at F6, Sally and Tyson on the first leg, the nurses in Africa, A/J at Final 5 and Cat and Jesse at F6 TBC!
