The End! Congratulations to all the winners!

theschnauzers:
NPH's opening number deserved an Oscar or an Emmy all by itself. Knowing that Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash creator and showrunner) has experience with VFX, I'm still amazed as to how that screen behind NPH was so in synch. And there's also the "predictions" gag, and how they managed to get the "predictions" into the sealed see through case when NPH went to reveal them before the Best Picture announcement.

There wasn't the huge amount of background energy this year, but I think that was more due to the films that were nominated, and the unpredictability of many of the categories this time around. I'd love them to being NPH back just to show that he's a fine host in general, but even he can't always save an awards show whose nominees don't produce enough of a buzz factor.

Several favorite moments -- Lady Gaga and the Sound of Music tribute, with the unannounced and surprise appearance by Julie Andrews (now in her 80s folks)!

-- The presentation of "Glory" as Best Song (both the performance and the award.

-- Eddie Redmanye's acceptance of the Best Actor -- loved his excitement and exuberance at winning, he was obviously surprised by it which made it all the more sweeter to watch.

That's my $.02 for this year.
