:groan: Not sure what all the belly-aching about which racers are on the cover... the rule, at least with the CBS released DVD (Seasons 1 & 7) is that the cover features the FINAL 3 teams plus the 4th place losers. That was the complaint from fans that the season is spoiled just by looking at the cover. You have a 25% chance of picking the finalists.
Can't talk about the Amazon released DVD (Seasons 2 thru 6, 8 thru infinity...), but I assume they follow the same rule... I'm just too lazy to look up on Wikipedia if that is true. ;)
So there, that's how that works. Popularity has nothing to do with the cover art. AFAIK. :umn:

While you have a point, WRP or Amazon or whoever are not gonna put INV teams on the cover. They'll pick the "stars of the season." Hence why the Cowboys are on the cover of the TAR16 DVD instead of Monique and Shawne.

WTF? :ascared have I stumbled into some sort of bizarre world? IIRC, Jet & Cord finished second in TAR16. HENCE the reason they are on the cover art. ERGO, it appears Amazon is following the pattern of the original CBS DVD covers. IPSO FACTO, it's NOT a popularity contest. :res:

I think the point here is they are in the foreground instead of Dan and Jordan. The cowboys deserved to make it on the cover, I don't think Bookworm wants to deny the fact that they come in 2nd place. But completely taking up 1/2 to 1/3 of the cover? :res: And it is true that they pick WHO they THINK is the more popular team from the season as well.
Look at Zev and Justin, 9th place but made the TAR 15 cover. I don't think Lena and Kristy made Season 6 cover. Trolls out, maybe not?

What people have issue with is not that Jet & Cord are on the cover, it's that they pretty much take up most OF the cover.
Not only do they take over most of the team space up top, they take up 1/3 of the in-race shots at the bottom.
