In the Dead Sea in Israel, saltiest sea on Earth, it is common to be floating so much that people can read a newspaper without geting the paper wet. I think it should be something similar. There are images for sure in google images about that. ;)

oooh thank you I totally forgot about that, I think is possible in the salt lake close to San Pedro de Atacama too, but don't quote me on that.
stekay:
I have the buoyancy to float automatically :funny:

Based on this bit of information provided by Vitoko:
--- Quote ---Route Info: "Irland 3 Salt Mine"
Teams took taxis from the museum to "Kilometro 21" (they might call it differently) from where they grabbed a bike and ride it to the abbandoned Irland 3 Salt mine, they were followed by a 4x4 pickup truck with camera and sound crew.

and this picture of Team Bingo riding the bikes:
I was able to find a likely location for the Detour. The solar altitude indicated by the nose shadow says it is about 9:30 am. At that time the sun was shining from azimuth 74.5 degrees. Sincre the sun is exactly at his left we know the roadway that he is riding on is pointed with azimuth 74.5 + 90 = 164.5 degrees. That helps to find the right stretch of roadway. Looking within one taxi ride from Iquique I found a road with exactly that angle! It's the A-750 south of and inland from town.
Here is Kilometro 21 in Streetview: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=iquique+chile&ie=UTF8&ll=-20.856135,-70.062894&spn=0.013324,0.02223&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&hnear=Iquique,+Iquique+Province,+Tarapac%C3%A1+Region,+Chile&gl=us&t=h&z=17&layer=c&cbll=-20.856344,-70.062804&panoid=nL69pbWda0nPElFGtW4HlA&cbp=12,203.84,,0,16.68
From Kilometro 21 it is a 3.6 km ride to an abandoned salt mine. Thanks to Vitoko, I believe this is the location of the Ireland 3 Salt Mine and our Detour. :conf:
stekay:
That's a good stretch of a cycle after a 24h bus journey.
