Why?

Blue Jean Baby:
i read he was tired of it and that is why he turned it over to JP.

irelen:
Actually, i think that MB turned it over to JP because he has so many other irons in the fire that he felt JP could do a better job taking care of his baby than him. Plus, JP has a better idea of what works and doesn't work on the show since he is there for the entire time the taping runs.

RudyRules:
So when you say MB turned it over to JP, you mean JP is now the Producer as well as Host??  Will MB continue to be involved w/ Survivor???

I think MB isn't so much tired of Survivor, but rather, he's the type of person who wants & needs change and to move on to new challenges.  He is a very talented person for sure.  :)_|

Change of subject:  I'm tickled that MB & Roma Downey are an item.  I wonder if there are wedding plans?  Has anyone heard?? ?:)?

Blue Jean Baby:
MB is still producing it i am sure. He just lets JP do everything else from what i heard.

i never even heard anything about Roma Downey, but she can have MB just not JP, lol.

Car84:
Survivor works because so many viewers get caught up in second-guessing the players and the producers.  Mark Burnett (and now(?) Jiffy) can flop on a challenge or a twist and - guess what? - people talk about it and call even more attention to the show.

Question: Did ANYONE do a dry run on that forgettable dart/arrow/spear challenge from Pearl Islands (or was it All-Stars?) - the one that everyone bombed on?  Another: Everyone switches tribes, except Ambuh.  And there are the questions about (apparently) rigged challenges, including one that etched Granny-In-Thongs in our collective memories.

My point?  Well, I'm wandering afield here.  Survivor works because it appears (at a glance) to be played and put together at or about our level.  That keeps us thinking along with those who are actually involved in putting together what is, arguably, the first and best-conceived reality show there is.
