Slowhatch,
Please read the Transportation thread re trains from Barcelona to the Loire Valley (Tours). It would be foolish to go all the way to Paris when teams can get off in Orleans and take a train from there to Tours. The precedent for this is AR1 in France where smart teams took the shortcut to Les Baux.

Very stupid does NOT mean didn't happen.
The train, the station , and thanks to the large clock in the station and slowhatches info, The ARRIVAL TIME are all confirmed.
If you can show a train arriving at that exact time which supports your theory, please do!
DrRox:
It is pretty obvious that teams arrived in Tours from Paris. But why? As apskip pointed out, quicker would have been to exit the night train in Orleans and take a train to Tours.......maybe getting there ~2-3 hours earlier.
That might just be the rub. Production had a very busy day planned..........4 chateaus.....self-driving...the field for plowing........the speed bump.......that involves a lot of local crew for all the different places (sets). You really don't want them to be sitting around all day. That wastes production resources. We just saw what happened when teams get all spread out in Moscow and Amsterdam. If they keep the teams bunched, then racing is more exciting and the various "sets" can be assembled and disassembled in short order and local crew released.
They might have not even known they were going to Tours till they arrived in Paris. It is pretty simple to put a clue box in the Paris train station to tell them to go to Tours.
What ever the mystery is.......we will know pretty soon.
Boingo:
:cmaslol Just pulled this over from Finale thread. Chateau Villandry is confirmed. :mas25
