What we are seeing is the probability that AR20 is going on a course similar to AR7, turning back westward after not quite halfway after starting southward and then eastward. The only race other than AR7 to not attempt a circumnavigation was AR8 and that was due to planned attitude to take it easy on the children.

Why do I project a continuation of the westward move from Katmandu to Doha? Simple distance factors is the answer. From Doha to New York City is 6700 miles. From Doha to east Asia (I pick Hong Kong for a relatively shortest route to the west coast of the U.S. it is 4000, but from Hong Kong to LAX is another 7300 miles. That totals 11,300 miles, almost double what the westward route takes (note - my world distance calculator doesn't say, but I used the same one for all distances and I think it is in nautical miles).
