--- Quote from: theschnauzers on November 09, 2011, 11:07:12 AM ---Keep in mind that CBS estimates that the number of viewers who can time-shift viewing is now at 43 percent of all households. The impact of this now amounts to literally millions of viewers even for TAR.
We won't really know what the viewership is for the total audience or the demos until those numbers are available; but the premiere picked up IIRC, over 1.5 million viewers from the overnights or final live plus same day numbers.

Well the timeshifted (DVR live Plus 7 data for the 7th and 8th episode are out. Most of TAR's timeshifting is already included in broadcast Fast Nationals and Final Numbers. For some reason most Reality shows do very well timeshifted that first night, but do very poorly for the remaining 6 days.
Episode #7
Live Same day (time shifting up to 2am) 9.75 million viewers and a 2.7 adults 18-49.
Live Plus 7 10.727 million viewers (a 10.2% increase) out of CBS programming only Gifted Man and 60 Minutes increased less. 3.1 adults 18-49 (a 14.8% increase) out of CBS programming only CSI-NY, Gifted Man, and 60 Minutes increased less.
Episode #8
Live Same Day (again timeshifting up to 2am for the first day included in these ratings) 10.27 million and 2.7 adults 18-49.
Live Plus 7 11.266 million viewers (a 9.7% increase) out of CBS only 48 hours and 60 minutes increased less. 3.2 Adults 18-49 (a 18.5% increase). On CBS only CSI-Miami, Good Wife, Gifted Man, 48 Hours and 60 Minutes, increased less.
theschnauzers:
Even in those two weeks, the total audience from live plus same day to live plus 7 days increased by just about 1 million. And it got the 18-49 demo back over 3.0.
And it's my understanding that Nielsen is estimating a shrinking national audience due to the economy (now that we're in the fourth or fifth year of the Great Recession.)
mswood:
The overall decline is slight so far.
We went from 115.7 million households to 114.7 million house holds, statistically not a huge factor.

This is all CBS released today in the weekly ratings press release about TAR on Sunday December 4th:

mswood:
Final finale numbers
11.715 million viewers 15 th for the week and we beat survivor
3.3 adults18-49 (now that is more like it) 13th for the week we also barely by a fraction beat survivor, also CBS best performance this Sunday.
Season average
10.168 million
2.9 adults 18-49
Versus last fall not much change in viewers 10.939
Quite a bit in adults 18-49 3.3 (seriously being sandwiched between two of the oldest shows on CBS isn't helping.
