On seasons 1 & 2, it were double-lenght legs, last team to arrive on a double lenght leg is never eliminated, or penalised or something, it was one leg divided in two parts. And on season 3 it was a no-break leg, two different legs without a break between them, and since they are two separate legs, they can either don't penalize the teams, give them a speed bump or even eliminate them.

Honestly, I can't see the difference between what you call "double lenght legs" and "no-break leg". They looked pretty much the same to me. They kept running, received clues and Harry stated it wasn't a pitstop.

The difference is that a double lenght leg is one leg divided in two parts, and a no-break leg is a leg without a break. I know Harris said it wasn't a Pit Stop, but a producer said it was like TAR 18, 2 legs without a break, and since they are two different legs, they can do whatever they want at the end of each leg.

Best Loser:
The difference between a no-break leg and double-length leg is essentially a prize for 1st place.

TARLA gave a prize for a double leg once, on season 1, and it wasn't a no-break leg.

Harris doesn't help at all in that point because he always says: there are 13 legs of the race.
