I think we see the reason teams were spotted going to and going away from the Pit Stop.
The obvious mistake they made was to not give all their own money to the orphanage. (:;)
This would cause a serious shuffling in the order of Teams finishing the leg. The ones that read the clue carefully get to pass the leaders who did not.
