and I think Rachels' bye message to Shelly wasn't too bad-- called her out on the fake diamond-- I think Shelly knew at that point also -- that she wasn't dealing with a idiot.

You know I never thought about that TL, but you could be right. That might have been the biggest factor in her vote.
