Talk turns to education. Shel says if you get a 3.5 average you can go to college in LA and she expects nothing less from her daughter. Rachel says in Las Vegas if you work in the casinos, the state will help you go to college. Rachel is explaining that cocktail waitresses get $15.00 an hour plus tips. If you get a free drink you tip the waitress $5.00, if you win at the slot machines, you probably give the cocktail waitress $5.00. She says you will never get fired if you do your job. They belong to the culinary union. It's really hard to get fired. It's all on a point system and if you come in late, you get points off but you can go to trial. It's too much trouble to go to a trial so you might lose a day of working.

Shel: So you worked the high end events? Rachel said no, she mostly worked at the pool. She had a friend that worked the big tables, the men would throw her a chip and made a lot of money. Giving the cocktail waitresses a lot of money. Some have a job just hanging out at the table and not getting benefits, model girls, hanging out at the games. They get to keep the tips.

Rachel got a job working at the pool at the Hardrock at MGM,,wearing bikinis or a one-piece, they were modest. You have a sarong, or you could request little shorts. Wear your hair up, wear it down. Keep your body in good shape, but just do your job. The girls are treated at employees.
People rent a cabana, up to $2500 and the girls get a $400 tip. Shel says Wow! (I say wow too!)

Rachel says the girls go to school part time, from say 21 to 31 and then move up if they can. The casinos pay for good grades, so much for B's. So much for A's. Shel says no wonder people go there to work. Guys can bartend, host. Clients tip them to go get girls for them Some VIP hosts call them their girlfriends. She still gets text messages. Bring 3 girlfriends out. If you are a cute girl, he' say, I'll pay you $100 and I don't have to do anything. He's making $1000 for you to be there. You get champaign, you get lunch.
Rachel says the guys just want the girls there at the cabana or bungalow. Brendon says they want the girls to be around just to be cool.
Shel asks if they have regulars, Rachel says yes, you have clients who come in every 3 months, every 6 months.. she starts to mention someone and

Rachel talking about someone who is a great friend. She'll put it on her calendar if she has someone she really likes. She'll help them plan their trip, making reservations for them because they don't have time or know how to do it. She has clients who she plans their trips, she could be an event planner.
Shel says they had to go to a lot of events and hire a limo, some of them becoming friends.
