I am taking this set of tweets with caution until we some someone else reporting on it from LAX (or elsewhere in the Los Angeles area) as well. Most of the pre-race indications had them going to Asia first. This info looks good, but we may have finally found a smooth hoaxer.

That's what I was thinking. He keeps introducing new "info" like they were supposed to go to argentina and now they are going to Copenhagen. Also he never really tweeted before this and didn't have any followers until you guys started following him.
However, I think his ramblings are fact based but embellished

Maybe they started somewhere like last season near Palm Springs in the desert where its more isolated.

Could be. But we still had plenty of sightings that day at LAX. I'm also bothered by the time of day though. It seems a little late to be starting. I thought most of the time they began in the morning or early afternoon.

Its almost 4:00pm here on the west coast. The race could have started in the late morning around 11am-noon. Remember they have to travel to the airport, get to the terminal, go through check-in and security.

This guy doesn't look/sound like a hoaxer to me.

I agree, he doesn't sound like a hoaxer. He sounds like a real fan, like what I would be saying if I was there. He's been a tweeting machine. I'm just trying to be cautious since in the past, we've usually had several people tweeting about seeing the TAR racers. It's a bit funny that we haven't seen any other reports yet. That's all I'm saying. I'd expect to see some other people tweeting about it in the next couple of hours or at least before the flight leaves.
Also, he's apparently never sent a tweet until an hour ago. That's a bit suspicious.
