We don't know for sure. All we know is that they 'defaulted'. What Big W quit was never actually revealed, IIRC.

--- Quote ---Number one- Detour vs. Fast Forward. Both came in the same clue envelope- BUT! Richard and Joey said the word Detour first, although the Fast Forward was introduced (and indeed seen on screen) first. Thoughts and opinions from the gallery?
--- End quote ---

The question did ask what was seen or heard first, and unless there was a random mention of one or the other elsewhere in the episode, the Detour was definitely mentioned first. (It may also depend on whether you count the recap/precap too -- surely one of the tasks was mentioned there.)

The general rule (Taken from the same rule used in the mswood game) is that unless strictly specified, the answers come from the episode themselves, not in the "previously on" and not in the "next time on"

Also, for the slogans, does it count all the fortunes they were reading passionately?

Dånooky:
As for threaten to hear the race, technically we never saw T&A-M quitting (it was edited out), and even then it didn't sound like a threat (taking Anastasia on the last leg as an example).
