I think this could apply to some international places ever visited by TAR... ???
Not including Los Angeles County, how come the final legs (and sometimes starting points) frequently visit certain cities and states (New York; Las Vegas, NV; San Francisco, CA; Dallas, TX; Alaska, and Hawaii), but neglect others (Philadelphia, PA; Houston, TX, Minneapolis, MN, etc.). Once in a while we get a blue moon like Chicago, Atlanta, and Portland, but how come they are barely touched among the majorly visited?
I know budget can determine the location at times, but TAR13's Moscow-Portland, TAR15's Prague-Vegas, and the latest season's Hong Kong-NYC flights make it hard to believe.

Tyler & Laura seem more like the ordinary ones, imo. Even their team name is dull (#TeamSoCal) to the point that they are doubtfully recruits, imo. :cmaslol

Well, IMO I think they weren't recruited to directly be a team, just 2 of the people casting found and suggested to audition. Then ultimately they both ended up making the show and racing together as a team. ;)
However, I have no info whether they actually were recruited or not.

Recruited racers are required to submit a video...so a video is no evidence for recruited vs applied.
