TAR 18 Ep 3: "We Had a Lot of Evil Spirits Apparently" (Japan)

It looks as though the Cowboys catch up to them.

Why do you think that the Cowboys caught up with Zev/Justin? The Cowboys got a 79 minute head start at Narita. Zev/Justin were on the delayed flight from Hong Kong. If both teams are there at the same time, I would think that Zev/Justin caught the Cowboys.

I think teams were bunched by an hours of operation, the location of the RB.
theschnauzers:
Since the intro featured Mt. Fuji, and there is the means of using bullet trains back to Narita for teams to fly out, the possibility of a longer drive or transportation trip away from the Tokyo area for the pit stop makes a lot of sense.
IIRC, that sort of thing was done in previous visits to Japan. And if the order of tasks is generally headed away from Tokyo, the further out pit stop would make even more sense. The long trip rushing to the pit stop would create the sort of tension and drama TPTB seem to like these days.

You just think or you have evidence? The first group cleared the airport around 715 am and second group about 830 am. If they had to drive or were driven to get cars in downtown Tokyo that is almost 1.5-2 hours. Then drive to RB west of Tokyo about another hour. Surely the RB location was open by 1000 am. They may have some sort of route marker before...but I would think that would be at the car carosel, then directions/instructions to the RB. I just dont see the second group catching the first group.

It does seem to me to be a very long linear leg coming up.....from Narita to the far side of Fuji. As you said, WRP does like legs like this. Gives them lots of footage to create driving drama to the Pit Stop. Sort of like in Iceland in TAR6. Plus lots and lots of opportunities for great HD shots.
