TAR 18 Ep 3: "We Had a Lot of Evil Spirits Apparently" (Japan)

<< < (3/51) > >>

TarJunkie999:
here's a typical view racers may have seen on a platform at Sydney's Central Train Station.

georgiapeach:
Nice! That is soooo close!

georgiapeach:
BayBay is doing an excursion, and sending photos!
He'll be back later tonight to tell us more...

1 Mike and Mel's spot!

2 3 Sydney Terminal Central rest stop/waiting room

4 Where K/V got the Bounce car a good five minute powerwalk from the Pit Start

5 $45 and 35 to airport by car from here, K/V's spot.

georgiapeach:

one more..BayBay will have to tell us what this is!!

BayBay:
Ok so I went for a little stroll of Central. I was surprised that they didn't use the location of the picture in the above post as the Pit-Start as it would have been a little bit more visually pleasing but anyway...so the trains on Platform One that arrive at Central do not come all the way to the end of the platform like you would expect them to but rather stop at the middle of the platform meaning that the front of the train aligned perfectly with the holding room that teams were escorted into:

The Pit-Start itself was located at this location:

which is the start of the platform about 30m away from the holding room (not very visually pleasing IMO). Most teams got information at the info window and caught a train straight to the airport -

theoretically speaking they could have been at the QANTAS desk in 30-40 minutes. However it is surprising that K/V walked all the way to the other side of the station (a good 5-6 minutes) to get in the Bounce car which would mean they would hit afternoon traffic and potentially take up to an hour to get to the airport?

Could it have been money?? Phil did say that there will be surprises!! Maybe the second last team gets their money taken away
The train would cost ~$13 each so it is a possibility!

The same person that had a video of K/V starting Episode 3 also had a video of Ron and Chris...was this an Episode 2 or 3 video? They may have also made the mistake of thinking taxi/bus was faster!

--------

Now for the 'Mel and Mike spot' ( ) them taking this route makes sense if teams caught a ferry back to Circular Quay and then had to go on foot to Anchor statue. HOWEVER I think it is cruel of WRP to have made teams walk as it is quite a trek and especially with those backpacks! Being on Pitt St however does make us think was the Marriott Hotel involved somehow? Or did G/M and R/C?? go just for directions?
Teams were seen working together carrying a box of some sort however when Mallory read the clue in front of Phil, it said 'You are heading to the Back and Beyond' and there was lip moment...maybe they have to pick something up on the way?
