I was thinking maybe like if you are the last team to catch a paper plane you may have to do an extra task somewhere in the leg. But Jet and Cord did a Speed Bump in Leg 8 of TAR 16 and they passed everyone.

So I am guessing in the 1st part of TBC leg they were last after doing the speed bump ( in speculation ) and in the 2nd part of the TBC leg they made up time to finish in the top 5 somewhere.

This is just a guess that is probobly not right.

At this time, CBS has apparently released listings information for 7:00pm, 8:00pm, and 10:00pm ET. Only the 9:00 pm hour with Undercover Boss is "projected"

This says to me that CBS might be planning an extended premiere; or they just haven't confirmed what episode of Undercover Boss will air that night. Of course, the CSI:Miami episode listing might be a feint to throw the other networks off, but at the moment, I think the odds are 50-50 for an extended premiere. I'm also not sure what programming CBS may have planned between 3pm and 7pm, so we might want to see if that can be pinned down.

It is odd that they have it showing diff times, depending where you look.

But this is on the home page and so it maked you think they may really mean it??

But I would think they would like the premiere to be at the time they plan on airing to nab that audience right off the bat. 9 is too late for some families...

8:00-10:00 premiere just seems so natural for a TBC in the first leg.

So if the premiere indeed turns out to be two-hours, am I correct in assuming that both of those hours will solely feature the time the racers spent in Sydney?

The episode order apparently is for 12 episodes, which has been the norm since TAR 14, IIRC. I think the operating assumption has been that there will only be 11 legs because of the first leg being an uberleg (TBC) over two episodes.

From the fact that there was a start line task, the problems for the one flight from LAX to Sydney via Hawaii and one other unscheduled stop, and from the extensive spoilage information about the Sydney portion of the leg, I can see a 90 minute or 2 hour premiere just for that. It is a lot, but it does seem to me that eventfulnesswise, this has to be one of the most front-loaded first legs ever for TAR. And of course, CBS and WRP will want to make every use of the HD cameras focusing in the locales in the process. But we'll have to wait and see.

This first episode is where they grab or lose viewers...so I would promote it to the max!

Deserves at least 90 minutes in my book.

I agree, but I don't want the whole first 20 minutes being airports and stuff like that.

The reason for the delay in the schedule just might be to a lot of discussions on just how long to make the premier.................just sayin.

Some people (like me) think that the best drama of the Amazing Race is in the airports and travel agencies and in self-driving automobiles in countries where the road signs are inexplicable to Americans.
