I did a bit of research before I posted the question, and that is waht came up. I was in disbelief, because I was thinking how do you measure with motorcycles?

In the intial post, I believe they are referring to riding a moped for that certain length rather than using them as a unit of measurement.
However even with bikes you can attach an odometer system.
