Plaidmoon:
Interesting picture. If I'm not mistaken, those red and silver bowls on the ground are the compass roses that the teams had to carry on the first leg. I'd guess that is camera equipment on the table (or maybe battery packs). I'd also guess those are racer backpacks on the left side judging by the red and yellow tags. The bag in the foreground is interesting. I thought it says "Bookworks", but after looking more, I think it's "Woolworth", which I believe is still active in Australia (closed in the US). Anybody in Australia recognize that store logo?

Woolworths is the largest company in Australia. Its a supermarket chain, and they are in no danger of going under- They have more people on staff than every government job in the country, combined.

The fact that they have a Woolies bag is non-consequential imo. It is more likely production and/or racers stopped off to get something to eat and paid the extra dollar at the register for a canvas bag.

David:
UAE is Asia for sure. The entire Arabian Peninsula is Asia.

Clarifying things above, sorry.

Kandance.........."continents" are defined by the Plate Tectonics Theory. If you google that, I am sure you will find many resources to explain. The boundry between Aisa and Arica is the Red Sea Rift.....which includes the Gulf of Aden.

This is also why Indonesia is considered part of the Australian plate in a physical geography sense. As far as cultural geography...then Indonesia is much more part of Asia than Australia.

Getting back to BayBay's photo for a moment.  I think the duffle bags are for the camera/sound crews, and not the Racers.  They all look too similar, and notwithstanding the yellow and red stripe, which I think points towards those bags belonging to the crews even more strongly than to the Racers, who tend to get different colors and styles.
