I fell asleep during it (it was nearly 3:30 AM). I think I was somewhere between the 1st and 2nd task and am still deciding if I should watch the rest of the episode or not.

Episode 2 of Expedition Impossible

The Gypsies got a 5 minute lead for finishing #1 in Episode 1. The next wave of about 4 teams were released after that 5 minutes. Later wave 3 and wave 4 teams were released, probably at about the same interval.

Teams had to trek to Arabian horses and ride those horses along the river, sometimes fording it to the other side. No Limits was falling back as the need for blind Erik to safely ride limited their speed. Country Boys, Gypsies and Football Players were all fighting for the top 3 places. Fab3 had fallen back to about 8th through 10th place. Bringing up the rear were California Girls and Mom's Army. At the next checkpoint California Girls arrived 45 minutes behind.

The next task was to fill a water urn enough to have a cylinder with a map inside pop out. There was a large leaky bucket and a small bucket to do the job. Some innovative teams partially plugged those leaks with clothing and plastic garbage liners, but the more efficient approach was the smaller bucket. The approximate order of departure from that checkpoint was:
1 Country Boys
2 Gypsies
3 The Cops
4 No Limits (yay, Erik)
5 Grandpa's Warriors
6 Team Kansas (who moved up due to real riding experience)
7 Football Players
8 Fisherman
9 Fab3
10 NY Firemen
11 Mom's Army
12 California Girls

The next task was to trek 4.3 miles to the River, inflate one kayak per person, don safety gear and paddle 4 miles down the river. During this segment Mom's Army had great trouble navigating their kayaks and fell behind while California Girls started a major upward move.

When teams arrived, there was a village and they had to find the craftsman's house and try out Moroccan lampshades until they could decipher the clue on their map. There was one shade with an opening which revealed Old Bridge as the next destination.  Since that was evident on the map, teams knew they had to go downriver about 2 miles. The Gypsies and Country Boys were battling for first place. The first 9 teams had no trouble doing so and finding the walled encampment that was the finish line for this episode. The final 3 teams were lost and had a lot of trouble. At one point The Cops went upstream and the NY Firemen downstream from the same point, so only one team could be right. It was the NY Firemen who were right, leaving The Cops to fight it out with Mom's Army.

The finish line order of arrival was:
1 Gypsies
2 Country Boys
3 No Limits
4 Football Players
5 Fab3
6 Fishermen
7 Team Kansas
8 Grandpa's Warriors
9 California Girls
10 NY Firemen
11 The Cops
12 Mom's Army

So, who is surprised that Latin Persuasion and Mom's Army were the first 2 teams out? Not me.  I predict that the next 3 out will be Team Kansas, California Girls and Grandpa's Warriors. All the other 8 teams have more strength and endurance.

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh! I forgot to watch!!

theschnauzers:
Peach, ABC repeated the first episode and I'm sure without lookiong that it'll be online by tomorrow at abc.com or hulu.com, or whereever ABC likes to post them.

As to the episode, I'm not surprised by much so far; the two all female teams are the first to go; and the other teams are starting to stratify themselves. At that point, eliminations will be the teams that make mistakes,.

Is there an over/under number as to how many seasons stages will feature camels? :)
