TAR 17 Ep 5 "Tastes Like A Million Dollars." (Norway)

<< < (7/22) > >>

apskip:
The only place where a bridge makes sense along the route from the Norwegian/Swedish border to the center of Narvik is the Narvik fjord.

Here is a list of bridges in Narvik:

Name                            Year     Status
Beisfjord Bridge             1957     in use
Hålogalands Bridge                  project phase
Hålogalandsbrua     2016     project phase
Skjomen Bridge      1972

Here is a link to a road-level view of Skjomen Bridge from the south side of the fjord:  http://en.structurae.de/photos/index.cfm?JS=32543

and the longer range view is below along with a map of central Narvik showing 3 bridges crossing short distances.

It's probably the smalahove (smoked  lamb's head) that was mentioned on the first page of this thread and a couple of times since then.

Polarbear:
It is indeed smalahove. Yes it is a traditional norwegian dish, especially in the western part. I have never tasted it, and probably never will. It looks disgusting, really!

Looking forward to Nat og Kat eating it :)

apskip:
I remember Dhani Jones eating a sheepshead in Iceland where he was preparing for a Strongman competition and his trainers wanted him to eat a local delicacy. He was turned off by its appearance, but apparently the taste is pretty good.
