When will race start?

Here are the filming dates for the other spring aired seasons:

TAR 16: November 28, 2009 – December 20, 2009 (started on Sat)

TAR 14: October 31, 2008 – November 21, 2008 (started on Fri)

TAR 11: November 20, 2006 – December 17, 2006 (started on Mon)

TAR 9: November 7, 2005 – December 3, 2005 (started on Mon)

TAR 7: November 20, 2004 – December 19, 2004 (started on Sat)

Any seasons older than that did not follow the current pattern.

Note that they are always done by Christmas and that they only recently stopped the practice of filming on Thanksgiving. TAR 14 was done by Thanksgiving and TAR 16 waited until after. The three "spring seasons" before that all filmed on Thanksgiving.

Also the filming always begins at the beginning or end of a week never in the middle. This is probably to make it more convenient for those taking vacation weeks.

My bet for starting this year is Nov. 26-29.

Even though TAR 18 hasn't started yet - I wouldn't leave the house without my camera right now.
Its an exciting time to be a TAR detective...
TAR Australia is currently filming and they could go anywhere - including North America.
There is no hard evidence on the start date of TAR 18 - but I would assume sooner rather than later.

Best to be prepared right now!  :waves:

AusTAR seems to be going East to West, so N. America wouldn't be for a while, I imagine.

long-time lurker, possibly my first post here, but I'm hoping we catch something on our travels - we're heading to Australia from the UK, via Dubai at the end of this month... though it's a Tuesday.. wonder what our chances are. (our flight isn't full yet, either) I'm keeping everything crossed, anyway! Oh and cameras charged and ready, just in case!
