Casting for Season 18?

This is interesting. Open call scheduled outside of Boston on 8/28. Is this for Season 18 after all?

This is definitely very encouraging news. The fact that the casting call isn't until the end of August is quite curious.
Anyone have any possible explanations? If they are going to try to have a season start in late January or early February, then this isn't giving themselves very much time.

I'm not sure. The application still says TAR17.

OK Peach, this one's for you! I have faith in your sources and your ability to sniff out the facts from the fiction. August 28. 18 or not?

I am not speaking in any way for CBS, or WRP, or casting...so you take what you get.
The restaurant confirms the date and time and the "amazing Race Casting".
I like this, hopefully it is the first of many. If so, then the apps should be out soon.
As I have said, there is a lot of smoke though about TAR 18 not being a "typical" race... so I don't know if/how that could affect casting...if at all.
And my overall impression the last several seasons is that there has been a more open appilcation window...more ongoing. And of course, more recruited teams. :groan:
I hope someone can go to this?? Should be interesting. I would feel more confident if this was a major casting opp with a CBS rep there...
