TAR 16 - EP 10 "I Feel Like I’m in, Like, Sicily" (Shanghai 1)

DrRox:
BVM has always bragged he could change things around on a moments notice......guess he did.

Slowhatch:
I looked through the episode for editing tricks (the same tricks they used to make Wulff castle disappear), but it seems straightforward. At the top of the bridge, there's a clear shot of Mike's face when he says "find Tian Zi Fang."

georgiapeach:
I think they just did a last minute task shuffle.

Did we see a scheduled ROUTE MARKER: in Lu Zia Zui Park in Pudong?? I need to rewatch but I didn't think so. If not, it is possible that that could becaome our RB next ep? ??? That's the mysterious escalade one...toy cars, climbing something, who knows?

Hooky:

I think it was to make up for the lack of a RB on Leg 5. The reasoning is that it actually cuts out the need to plan another Detour from the entire season, thus saving money while making an unprecedented twist. I don't believe it was a last minute switch, but who really knows?

apskip:
There are a number of possibilities that could explain why two ROADBLOCKs were in one episode. The one that appeals most to me is that Bertram van Munster has finally discovered that  many of his approaches have been too predictable. It's like an NFL football team measuring the tendencies of their next opponent. BVM wants to be less predictable and surprise his audience, particularly that part of the audience which studies his every move and tries to discern the underlying patterns. In other words, he wants to "break the mold" so we and others cannot track him as easily in the future.
