Why are so many Rhode Islanders on reality-TV shows?

For the Barrington brothers, going on the show was not Daniel’s idea. “I hate to travel, but I hate it a little bit less now.”
Going on the show was Jordan’s idea. He has watched every episode of the show since it started.
“I was enamored with the premise of the show,” Jordan, a strategic consultant, says. “You get an opportunity to travel the world and the chance to win $1 million. Sign me up.”
So Jordan signed up, and Daniel agreed to be his teammate. In auditions, both were simply themselves.
“We’re the same people at all times,” Daniel, a financial consultant, says. “That’s the real us. Casting saw that.”
But even people who are themselves don’t get cast in reality shows. There has to be something more, which apparently the Pious brothers have got.
“We have similar personalities yet extremely different interests,” Jordan says. “That makes for an interesting dynamic. I like boys. He likes girls. But it goes beyond that. It creates an interesting relationship.”
