the teams never wear jeans while racing b/c many tasks prevent that type of clothing. They wear mostly comfortable running clothes and/or production provided clothing (thoughts of the globetrotters in dutch dresses running through my head right now)

ltvols is right, they wear sportswear ie Nike and slacks/khaki's where they can zip off the legs dealios and I believe that even when the racers get an extended pitstop they keep their fannypak with them at all times, their passports and such.
