Since it is right in front of the Burj, I thought perhaps it had something to do with that. It is/was under construction still, perhaps they have to take the construction guys elevator up?? That alone could be pretty scary.

I was basing that on the idea that the race/Burj Dubai tasks are the Detours. Nothing has been official yet, unless I missed something.

detour thanks to BVM below and I'm with Slowhatch, they all probably go to the top to collect the first clue, probably the first task of the day.

An unofficial site here with lots of photos, video links, etc. Comparing the site's map with this photo, I'm guessing the horse is between The Address and the Dubai Mall (if the horse even figures in this episode).
