Home Celebs 3am Victoria Beckham thrilled to be joining American Idol
She's thrilled to be joining American Idol - but don't expect Victoria Beckham to swap that pout for a smile.
Days after we revealed that Posh was going to step into Paula Abdul's Louboutins on the hit reality talent show, she has called to tell us about her judging style.
Victoria, 35, tells us: "I am beyond excited. When I heard, I just couldn't believe it.
"I feel like I've got the best job that there is. I'm just so happy and I can't wait. I was in bed on Wednesday when I got the text from Simon Fuller saying: 'You're going to Denver'."
When she arrived at a downtown Denver hotel yesterday before the first round of auditions, scores of onlookers crowded around taking photos.
She said: "I'm a big fan of the show - I come to the shows with the kids and David loves it. I'm just so grateful to be given such a fantastic opportunity.
"I'm still grinning from ear to ear.

Posh to be offered huge payday for American Idol
Victoria Beckham may be offered 3-million-pound payday if she becomes a full time judge on American Idol, sources say.
The maker of the show Simon Fuller and judge Simon Cowell have reportedly decided to go ahead with the decision to launch the former Spice Girl as judge after two trial auditions.
"The producers and judges loved her and she loved being part of the show. But she’s got a lot on and her priority is fashion and her family, not getting a full-time job," the News of the World quoted a source close to the celebrity as saying.
However, her skinny look and British accent could still be a last hurdle. Bosses at Fox apparently want to check if she can really connect with the audience.
An industry source said: "American Idol is the highest rated show and they don’t want to pick a judge viewers don’t take to. Focus groups are going to be set up to judge Victoria’s performance.
"There’s some concern about whether viewers will think she’s too skinny. They’re also worried about her accent. She’s started to talk in a very posh voice and some people might struggle with that."
However, suggestively, show creator Fuller wants the stunner to replace Paula Abdul.
The source added: "Victoria is the clear favourite because of Simon Fuller’s influence. She wasn’t her best at her first audition but Fuller, who is her manager and the creator of Idol, convinced her to come back.
"She was a revelation at the second audition and is now top of the list to permanently replace Paula."
