If you look closely at that white fence. It looks like one of those temporary types. The footing looks like it has a base. So its possible that fence was only up for the Olympics and just not taken down yet.

Also it said that bike shop is around the hotel or close to the hotel so probably the Pit Stop is close to there...

The Chinese forums have provided as a list of places in Beijing with lakes...
Yuyuan Lake (Yuyuantan) which they are most inclined towards, Zizhu Garden (Zizhuyuan), the Zoo, Taoranting, Tuanjie Lake (Tuanjiehu), Chaoyang Park, Olympic Park, Houhai, Beihai, Shichahai, Zhongnanhai (nope, because it's China's super secret headquarters), Longtan Lake, Kunming Lake (Summer Palace) and Honglingjin Park

Maybe the confessionals were not taken at the pitstop area as they gave the teams time to wash off their makeup? And the buddha and pavillion or whatever it is were filmed somewhere else?
