One of the challenges that faced the contestants was to pull each other through Phuket City in the midday heat using rickshaws as they searched for “King Rama V Park”.

I'm wondering now about the herbal shop/rickshaws being the two detour choices. Four pairs were witnessed with the rickshaws. We have Cara/Jamie and Michael/Mark in the herbal shop. That means everyone else would have had to pick the rickshaws. Would Mel/Mike have really chosen to do that? But I can't figure out another way for it to work.

Brought over from the spoiler page:

The rickshaws aren't the Roadblock so we have the other tasks to speculate on. I'll pull the screencaps and try to organize them later but wish we had more!

Clues:

TEAMS TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE WHEN THEY RECEIVE A FOOT MASSAGE FROM A LOCAL ELEPHANT, AND THE EXTREME HEAT OF THAILAND CAUSES ONE RACER TO COLLAPSE, ON "THE AMAZING RACE," MARCH 29
"Gorilla? Gorilla?? Gorilla???" (Thailand) -

-The teams travel from India to Thailand on the seventh leg of the race
"Gorilla? Gorilla?? Gorilla???"
-Once there, they pose with a tiger and receive foot massages from an elephant
Teams take a walk on the wild side…or rather, the wild side walks on them

-One team finds that time is not of the essence when a shopkeeper hinders their movement,
One team finds itself at the mercy of a slow moving Thai shopkeeper.

-A first place team finds itself in the penalty box—and their victory in jeopardy
and others discover that a hurried pace doesn't always equal victory, particularly when mistakes can add up to penalties

-The region's extreme heat causes one racer to collapse at the pit stop
and in the extreme temperature of Thailand, one racer collapses from exhaustion.

First up, we know the Zoo must be first per blogger with Mel/Mike Vic/Tammy, pic of money in hand

Hmm, will try my best to explain...

Mongkol Nimit Temple (at the end of the lane, 1st photo)
Suggested by traffic warden / traffic police at E. Possible start of rickshaw task.
Witness saw teams running east, past A.

Soi Romani (Romani Lane) (1st, 2nd photos; parking lot on right hand side of 2nd photo)
Possible start of rickshaw task, as suggested by witness at D. It's a narrow lane, with a smallish parking lot at the south end.

Yuen Chun Tong Herbal Shop (3rd photo)
Will definitely be visited by our teams.
Witness at B saw teams turning right from Th Phuket onto Th Thalang, escorted/led by a police motorcade.

Thai-Chinese Museum (last photo)
Suggested by witness at C. No reports from the people at/around the museum though.

DrRox:
I just can't see Phil telling Jamie/Cara and Luke that each team has a time penalty while Margie is lying on the ground. I can see him telling Jamie/Cara at the mat and then later on telling'explaining to Luke/Margie in private,  they have a time penalty. Then starting the next episode with an explanation to the viewers that Luke/Margie got the same penalty.....that makes sense to me.

But I really think that ONE other team gets two penalties....because of the great differences on the shadows on that stupa, it leds me to believe it is Tammy/Victor......at least till we get more clues/evidence.

Thanks for all the work lining it all up Puddin!!!!!

michael:
This episode looks exciting!  :wohoo:

slayton:
I noticed that Margie, while pulling the rickshaw, wasn't wearing a hat like Victor.

I wonder if whoever has to pull the rickshaw is required to wear a hat, or if Victor decided to wear one on his own.

I don't recall previous instances where teams were penalized for not wearing required gear.

Thanks for re-posting the hints puddin, especially this one:
"One team finds that time is not of the essence when a shopkeeper hinders their movement, and others discover that a hurried pace doesn't always equal victory, particularly when mistakes can add up to penalties..."

I always parse the words carefully, and I'm trying to figure out if "others discover" refers to multiple teams or the members of a single team.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but if multiple teams do get penalized, then it makes sense that they would use "others discover" instead of "another discovers."
