This is not an issue. PGA Tour will be pushed to Golf Channel if it runs long. The PGA Tour does not have the ratings clout as the NFL. No overruns until the NCAA Tournament next month.

you sure? i remeber all stars premair getting pushed back because of  golf overrun but that may have been before the new contract

That was the Masters.  As mentioned, the PGA isn't that popular compared to the NFL and College Hoops.  However, The Masters is a big deal.  It's the golf equivalent of Wimbeldon, or the World Series of Poker.

mswood:
Kogs is right I just checked, they did have a roughly 30 minute overrun on Feb 18, 2007 for Golf.

mswood:
And more importantly it depressed the ratings (I actually remember this, but did double check) the ratings for the full CBS lineup that night as each show performed at lower then normal levels.

So to hell with that.  I am already obsessive enough about the ratings, now I get to worry about that possibility all night.

Might have been due to The Masters, but not for the Pebble Beach. Trust me, last week's Buick Invitational almost ran to 7 p.m. ET, but CBS was not going to dump 60 Minutes for golf. It planned to throw it to Golf Channel and will do that again this week if it happens.
