omg, if it's november 11th it COULD be our race!
Peach said she heard the teams would be in Vietnam around November 7, 8, or 9...

Yes, indeed it could. Michael is correct! Why not AR14 in Hong Kong? The timing is right. AR14 has to finish around Nov. 20 to 22, so having Hong Kong as the halfway point makes sense to me. I expect that teams could enjoy time in Malaysia or Indonesia, but particularly Australia and New Zealand, each of which could have multiple legs.
My guess is that it goes something like this(with 12 legs because there ar reportedly 12 teams):
Locarno
Salzburg
Romania
Somewhere in Asia
Somewhere Else in Asia
Hong Kong
Bali
Alice Springs, Australia
Canberra, Australia
Christchurch, New Zeland
Wellington New Zealand
U.S. Finish

Neobie, I think you have done a valiant attempt but have narrowed your focus more than is necessary. I decided to widen the time range of how apart each of two flights needs to be, mostly to qualify flights that are slightly less than on hour apart. Another problem with your analysis is the assumption that it takes no time at the airport for teams to make it to tranportation. Even though the teams have carrry-ons, the cameras and sound equipment have to be checked, so retrieving them takes time and possibly customs would add to that. I think about 45 minutes would be needed at HKG for AR14 units of 2 members, one cameraperson and one soundperson to disembark.
Here is what I found using today's (admittedly not yesterday's like you used) schedule of actual arrivals into Hong Kong. If you do it that way and make the resasonable assumption that these cities are large enough to have daily service to Hong Kong(not a few times a week), here are the cities from which flights could have originated and landed in the 5pm to 7pm time frame:
Taipei 522pm, 605pm
Bangkok 503pm, 628pm
Shanghai 518pm, 605pm
The incoming flight should logically be from anywhere in eastern or central Asia and I expect the outgoing flight maybe 2 days later to be going south.
Slowhatch:
Apparently #9 is a generic public pier with no outlying connections. A Lamma restaurant uses the pier for a free shuttle, but that's all I could find. Although they'll probably use taxis, it's only an 8 minute walk from the MTR (8:24, to be exact : go here and search for "Pier 9").

And here are the photos!! Credit: hongdomoto from discuss.com.hk
based on eyewitness, hongdomoto said the phrase on the clue didn't seems like "The Amazing Race", so it MAYBE not the US version... :ascared
