Sounds like BVM confirms 12 legs   :yess:

Q. Regarding broadcasting in high-definition, you’ve (Bertram) previously stated that "I don’t think it’s a priority." With the digital transition looming, phasing out of CRTs in favor of LCDs, and the continuous rise in high-def TV sales, do you foresee Amazing Race to ever be shown in high-definition in the future? — Taylor
A. BvM: There’s no reason we shouldn’t do it but right now the equipment is a little cumbersome for us. The battery packs on these cameras are very, very heavy. We have human beings who have to shoot the show 7 days a week, 24 hours a day so there’s a technical aspect. If you’re in one location filming, that’s much easier of course. But we are racing around the world — 40,000 miles in 21 days, shooting 12 (episodes), so there’s a practical aspect to it.

Ack, forget what I said about teams on the same flight into Munich. Now we know Amanda/Kris took a taxi from Stechelberg "to the airport". If teams head to Bern Airport, they'd be on the same LH3655, flying from 6.45am to 7.50am.

However, if teams are instructed to take the long haul to Zurich Airport (197km by taxi, translating to say 2h 10min), teams could potentially split onto two, even three flights:
LH5063 to 7.10am to 8.15am
LH3739 to 8.45am to 9.45am
LH3741 to 9.30am to 10.30am

On Novosibirsk to Jaipur:

Worked out possible flights from Russia to India, and teams left Novosibirsk after Tue 11 Nov 10.55am, but before Wed 12 Nov 1.20pm. Any earlier and they'd get into Jaipur a full two days ahead of their Pit Stop, any later and they won't make the flight into Bangkok two days later.

The flight connections, which we'd concern ourselves with when we can narrow the timings down a leetle bit more, include crazy itineraries such as (and these are actually the fastest flights at certain times of the week!):
Novosibirsk > Urumqi > Shanghai (change airport) > Hong Kong > Delhi
Novosibirsk > Moscow > Bangkok > Delhi
Novosibirsk > Frankfurt (change airport) > Mumbai > Delhi
Novosibirsk > Moscow > Dubai > Mumbai > Jaipur

PS Is Apskip on sabbatical? Missing you already!

georgiapeach:
apskip is on holiday, back next week!

georgiapeach:
Okay guys, we need some help! The press releases are saying the first place team is staring down elimination because their plane makes an unexpected landing.

That of course is Victor/Tammy who were substantially in the lead.

What flight would they have taken? Salzburg>>Bucharest

Can we check historical data to see what delay there was?

:ty3:
