If it is fermin Point, then how about a helicopter flight from catalina to LAX? That would go right by it.

One more thing about this shot is that if it is Fermin Point then it was taken really late in the day. Something like 2 to 3 pm. Too late for a typical TAR start time.
This shot was taken between 2:14 and 2:53 pm (assumes October 31st)

Might be an after-shot because as you say 2-3 pm is way too late for a start.
