The Amazing Race 14 Speculation on Spoilers

georgiapeach:
I found a hydrofoil Guangzhou to Hong Kong w/ no trouble, but nothing to Guilin.

Wikitravel says
--- Quote ---By boat
You can get to Guilin by cargo boat from Guangzhou via Wuzhou, but there are no passenger boats to Guilin anymore, except the boats to and from Yangshuo. You can take a cargo boat if you want to at almost no cost from Wuzhou to Yangshuo.

if they went to Central Siberia in Russia and there will be 2 legs there for this season, then that will make Survivor put to shame and I hope this will happen! :yess:

Anyway, here's my revised legs that contain for TAR 14, in my theory:

Starting leg: Los Alamitos Airfield, California (just near to Los Angeles, again)

leg 1 & 2: Switzerland
leg 3: Salzburg, Austria
leg 4: Romania
leg 5 & 6: Central Siberia, Russia
leg 7: Nepal or India (again?!?!) or Bangladesh
leg 8: Phuket, Thailand
leg 9: Guilin, China [2nd non-elimination leg]
leg 10: Beijing, China
leg 11 (final leg): final city will be either in Hawaii or East coast part of USA

And since I theorized that there will be 2 legs in Central Siberia, surely the only way to get there is via the Trans-Siberian Railway after landing in Moscow, Russia because the roads in Russia, especially in the Siberian region are very bad and getting there will take weeks, not a few days to get to some of the towns and cities on that region unlike in getting to a train or to the airport and that's what I'd saw in a TV series called Long Way Round when Ewan McGregor, Charley Boorman and the rest of the crew went to that area and they had difficulty to drive in a Siberian roads.

apskip:
Topaz, you are a bit  naive about Russian tranportation systems. The roads are few and there is the TransSiberian Railway, but airports exist for all the medium and large cities. Here is a list of some airports:

Tyumen’
Novosibirsk
Krasnoyarsk
Irkutsk
Khabarovsk
Ulan Ude

I am sure there are many others.

selkie:
If they managed to pull off a real coup and get permission to film there, Bhutan could be an option for leg 7. All reports are that it's a beautiful and safe place with wonderful people, but they limit the number of tourists allowed into the country to what they see as a non-disruptive level.

ZBC Company:
According to a TV Guide interview, Bertram van Munster, the executive producer of the show, revealed that the countries of the People's Republic of China and Russia will be visited as he states that the racers in this season will be "suffering through blizzards in Central Siberia" and will be involved with "Olympic-themed challenges in Beijing".[3]

Furthermore, he also promised that this season will feature "less airports".[3]
