Local 'Hell's Kitchen' chef can 'get the job done'
The boss of a local "Hell's Kitchen" contestant says he's sure his employee can hold her own against a guy like Gordon Ramsay.
Chef Carol Scott of Knoxville will be a contestant on the fifth season of "Hell's Kitchen," the Fox reality show in which Ramsay puts 16 contestants through the paces. Scott currently works for Peerless in Knoxville. Her boss, Gary Kalogeros, president of Eat Out Inc., the company that has Peerless under its umbrella, says he is confident she can handle Ramsay.
"Carol is very assertive. She handles constructive criticism very well," he says. "She's the type person who can definitely get the job done. I think she can handle herself very well on the show."
Scott may not be the only contestant from this area. Though he is definitely not on the fifth season with Scott, Tyler White of the Crowne Plaza has also been auditioning for a future installment of the competition series.
White could not be reached for comment before press deadline. But Scott did confirm that he was not among the contestants during the season she's on.
The fifth season of "Hell's Kitchen" will premiere at 9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29, WTNZ, Channel 43.
The winner of the fifth season gets $250,000 and a chance to run a restaurant in Atlantic City, N.J. Scott has already shot "Kitchen" but cannot say how she fared. "Obviously, we are very excited that she's on the show, and we are proud of her," says Kalogeros.
"We look forward to viewing her on the show, and we hope to have some viewing parties."
