Got it!

--- Quote ---There is stiff competition among bus companies for the Bangkok to Chiang Mai bus route and buses leave hourly. Buses from Chiang Mai to Bangkok leave hourly from the Arcade Bus terminal, east of the city, between 6:30 and 21:00.

Buses from Bangkok to Chiang Mai depart at least every hour between 05:30 and 22:00 from Mo Chit Station and take roughly 10 hours. We recommend VIP buses (fare 400 - 600 baht), offered by either the government or private companies. These can also be arranged from travel agents on Khao San Road, with a pick up there, and at other points

I think we may have to call this one extended leg--I am not sure we have time for two pitstops in Thailand?

OK, I'll go with the extended leg theory. It makes more sense.  :jumpy:

The editors thought that since it's only one leg, it's OK to give out a lot of clips for the 2nd day.
I doubt if they'll give us anything for the 2nd leg so early at this stage.

georgiapeach:
Oh good. I think it terms of filming, it will turn out to be one leg with one Pitstop. I expect that for the racers, it was presented as a TBC though, and it is quite possible we could see this aired over two weeks.

That would sort of live up to the TARA "tradition" of having no elimination right at first, without really having an actual NEL episode. It would also let AXN give viewers some extra time to get to know all the racers before one team is eliminated in this leg. And it fits with the press on the "toughest" race ever.

I do know that the next leg starts with only 9 racers and is also an elimination leg.

The extended shelter looks like a bus bay to me, and the round roofing at the corner fits that of the Chiang Mai Arcade bus station. If only we can confirm those orange-roofed buildings behind... (They're under construction in Google Maps.)

Yes, I asked a Thai friend and she said the building looks like the Juvenile Court.

She said these are the buses from Mor-chit station in Bangkok to Chiang Mai:  Sa-ha Charn Tour, Charn Tour, Nakorn Chai Air, Piriya Tour, Sombat Tour, Siam First Tour, Indra Tour, Thun-chit Tour, Porn Piriya Tour
